TORA Merchandise

Post by Louie Loper on Fri 3 May 2013 - 21:46

Was just thinking about this today but I bet if TORA sold t-shirts, calendars, mugs, whatever, that they're would be some bought.

Maybe stuff with the different series' logos, schedules, etc on them. Just a thought that came to me. Idea

There are... http://www.dread.cc/shop/category/tora_racing/
The team VAMR got their own shirts too.

There was some talk of extra merchandise, not sure if there'd be anything coming out of it any time soon.

We have discussed this in the past. Unfortunately, to set up payment processing and shipping logistics in multiple countries makes selling merchandise cost prohibitive for either the buyer or TORA (the seller). There are (or at least were) nice embroidered "Racing Team" shirts. They are quite nice (I have one), however, they are a bit expensive, but no more than any other racing team apparel.
If you have a "hook-up" on any screen printing, embroidery, or other printing (like for cups, mugs, fanny packs, loin-cloths, and the like), post a new thread and respond here. If its feasible fiscally, I'd be down to throw in some cash for manufacturing costs. That said, in my research, I could not find anything that made any sort of sense logistically because of import terriffs, and distribution. Anyhoo, just my 2¢

Just to clarify. Dread do the official TORA race shirt that is worn by all staff at real race events.
VAMR have a deal with Unlap for their teamwear at the moment and there is hopes of extending that to the fanbase (if one exists) in the future pending discussions with potential sponsors.
TORAs kit will be looked at again throughout this year and I am in talks with Dread for some new items as the season progresses. So stay tuned Smile

I really really want a proper fleece/jumper from Dread. The T-shirt simply doesn't cut it in mid September in a garage for a full weekend when it'#s wet and windy.

I really want o get some proper merch stuff going, but not sure how it would logistically work. I don't exactly have a stock room where I could put that sort of stuff to send to people. Then we have to think of overseas.

Could we not get a specialist retailer to stock and sell it on their website, just pay them off the cost of having the link(s) associated, no advertisement costs needed on their end as all the visitors for that would come from us.

They get a percentage of the profits AND helps boost web traffic across the rest of their site.
