New after seeing TORA on motors tv
Hi all. Im new to TORA after seeing it on motors tv, I was intrigued to see what it was all about and I hate being in races with idiots knocking you off on every corner.
Ive played forza for a while now but my xbox is on it way out and wont play the disc properly at the minute, ive got a replacement coming in a couple of days so will be back on hopefully.
Im into JDM cars really, my last was a civic ek, my current I a civic em2. Ive owned a mk1 mx5 and a Nissan 100nx in the past.
ive been on the link to register and asked for my number, I asked for 717, how will I know if I get this?
after looking around the site ive noticed the various cups and races available but can anybody tell me exactly how to start racing on here?
My user name is hilli182 I try to be on most evenings
Sorry for the basic questions , any help much appreciated

Re: New after seeing TORA on motors tv
Thanks, I noticed that after I posted.
Do I have to be in a team to race? Or can I race as my "own team"
Am I right to assume I register on which ever cup Im interested in then when its the time for it I get invited on the xbox? Or am I completely wrong lol
Again sorry if my questions seem abit obvious

Re: New after seeing TORA on motors tv
ok cool sounds straight forward enough, just got to get the xbox back up and running.
Do I have to register a team name anywhere?
And are there "one off" races going on all the time or is it just the various series / cups that are available?

Re: New after seeing TORA on motors tv
Welcome to TORA!
It is not required to register a team name. However, you can ask for a section in the TEAM NEWS subforums to post any "press releases" for your team.
For "one-off" type races, Bandit1097 has started hosting a Saturday Funday where a different car and track is picked for each race.
However, you can still sign-up for any series even if you cannot make all of the races.

Re: New after seeing TORA on motors tv
thanks for the help guys. Ill keep having a look around
Cant wait to start racing with people that actually want to race fairly.
I might be abit slower than all you pros on here but im sure it will be more fun than getting shunted off at corner one every race

Re: New after seeing TORA on motors tv
don't worry about being too slow, if there is enough entrants in the series (like the GTs) you will be placed in the lobby which your pace is similar to other people so you can still race hard and close with other people. that's the best part of it.
and not everyone is the fastest to begin with, remember my first race here, i got demolished! but since then i've slowly gotten quicker but still have a lot of time to catch up, it's just a learning process, and some learn quicker than others, so no need to worry about being quick or not, just stay clean.

Re: New after seeing TORA on motors tv
Hello everyone! I am new to TORA and I have a few questions.
1. Are the cars standard or upgraded?
2. How do I know when a race will be on?
3. Do we have to run own liveries?
4. How do I pick a series to race in?
5. What are the chances of racing people my skill?
6. How long is a season?
7. Am I welcome to be a part of it!?

Re: New after seeing TORA on motors tv
1. Car builds will be posted in the relevant series' thread. These can range from completely stock to fully upgraded. You must adhere to the build rules, there will be no leeway in this.
2. In the relevant series sub-forum, a 'race thread' will be posted in which you must post 'In' to be able to race. If you don't post in that thread you will not receive an invite.
3. Liveries aren't necessarily compulsory, however series have Mandatory vinyls (like number boxes) that must be visible on the car. A livery shouldn't contain any tobacco sponsorship nor should it be inappropriate.
4. A series will have a 'Registration thread' where you state your gamer tag, race number, car choice and nationality.
5. Very high. For popular series such as the GTs and ISCC, a lot of people participate, and lobbies are split into the results of a first qualification session. Some lobbies are covered by just 0.300 seconds!
6. Varies depending on series entered.
7. Absolutely! As long as you're a clean and respectful racer. You can enter any series you wish.

Re: New after seeing TORA on motors tv
Also, I was just checking the GT Sprint Series, I wondered what the car regulations were and would the SRT Viper GTS-R be eligible to enter, can I have some help with that please, also, where can I find the registration forum?

Re: New after seeing TORA on motors tv
Sadly the GT series that you saw on Motors TV is not being run at the moment. Evernything from that series can be found in the archives.
BUT,
the Audi R8 Cup is currently underway using the Audi R8 LMS with similar performance to the cars used for the recent TORA GT Championship

OK, thanks for letting me know. Is there any other series where a SRT GTS-R would be eligible?

Re: New after seeing TORA on motors tv
I think the upcoming ISCC might have it in. That's basically an ALMS style series, with LMP and GT cars on track at once.
The TEC has the Viper in too, but you'd need a four man team if you want to drive the whole 24 Hours. The next race is Le Mans on the 29th June.
