Looks pretty, but looks a bit Arcade-y (ala Shift 2) and the lack of cockpit disappoints me. The cockpits in Grid 1 were fantastic Sad

My copy is sitting at home, but from what I've read it's not great. Still, should be good fun for wreaking each other Razz Oh, and over the top Touge events.

Yeah I ordered from Amazon and that's what I got, plus a GTR and Yas Marina. Quite annoying DLC exclusives though, the GAME edition has the McLaren GT3 car and the Full Brands Hatch Circuit. I'm assuming they come as separate DLC.

GRID 2 Empty Re: GRID 2

Post by Guest Fri 31 May 2013 - 14:33

CQR NEON got his yesterday - he's put his first thoughts review up here: (EDIT: And conclusion now, but it's a bit sweary to post on TORA lol)

http://www.cqrclub.co.uk/forum/post/last/m/5201082/viewthread/7227803-grid-2-first-thoughts

The pre-order/DLC is a bit of mess - different packs from different retailers, the Indycar Pack if you pre-ordered from Amazon, McLaren GT3 from GAME etc. Looks like they're all available to buy anyway for 560MSP each.

Post by Matt Fri 31 May 2013 - 14:57

Given it a bit of a go and yeah it's fun.
Only done the early races and dabbled with the Macca GT3 car on some stupid street circuit thats better suited to hillclimb events.
Can't suss out the online lobby system particularly. Forza very definitely has that nailed!

I have rented it from LoveFilm and the online lobbies are a mess with people crashing you out of the way. Only played a little bit of the career and it looks standard, go here, race them, get fans, win a car, go to the next place, race them... Etc.

On a personal note, it seems very focused on RWD Drift cars, which I'm not a fan of to be honest. Give me an FWD or AWD grippy car any day!

They seem to have made no effort to fix the handling to something more bearable (like they did between Dirt 1 and 2. Still arcade, but in a nice solid fun way, not the ridiculousness of GRID).

GRID 2 Empty Re: GRID 2

Post by iDuNnY Mon 3 Jun 2013 - 0:00

I bought Grid 2 today only from playing the first Grid and really enjoying it, first impressions with Grid 2: the game looks really nice graphically and plays smooth, the handling is of a very similar feel to PGR but not as arcadey and no were near as arcadey as the first Grid game, there are a shed load of cars in the game all very detailed the career itself has loads of races all different styles from, Street race, track races, drift, touge, time trial, elimination, face off races, manufacturer races to win cars etc same applies for multiplayer which is also fun with a full lobby, The only downside to Grid 2 is theres no cockpit view but its no biggie, all in all for racers that enjoy a fun racing game thats not simulation serious i'd say buy it i think its a fun racing game to chill out on Smile
