stopping Controller Auto shutdown?
Hi Guys,
what do you guys do to stop your controller from auto shutting off every 15 mins?
i know you can waggle the sticks to keep it alive but that's a pain when you are driving with a wheel. It's also a pain if you forget and then the party chat comes blaring thru the surround sound!!

Re: stopping Controller Auto shutdown?
As someone who endures the same hell, I have yet to find a solution as far as turning the controller auto-off "feature" off is concerned. I read somewhere that using a usb connection to the console may quell the issue but I have yet to try it.

Using a USB connection does solve this. However it has to be an official Xbox lead and not another make as far as I can tell.

Re: stopping Controller Auto shutdown?
guess i'll go with my original "fix" of a bit of string tied between the wheel and joystick.

I highly doubt it. USB is a standard that everyone must adhere to, even MS. If there is an issue with a cable it would be more likely that it is an older version cable (v2.0).
Re: stopping Controller Auto shutdown?
Stick it down on something, making sure the sticks are pointing somewhere and that helps
Re: stopping Controller Auto shutdown?
by a cheap ass wired one,
I use a wheel which for some unfathomable reason doesn't have a headphone port, so I bought a cheap Boba Fett one and plug my headset into that

Not any old USB, I have a number of USB cables that do allow for wired play but don't charge or keep the controller from turning off.
