Bad news for ROSCOEpCOTRAIN

The actor playing the part of our TORA tagsake in a 70s TV show(/2000's Move Remake/Parody) Dukes of Hazard, has died today...

...less bad news being that the gamertag is spelt wrong.

Today marks a very special day in Australia and New Zealand. 100 Years of the ANZACs
ANZAC Day stems back to April 25th 1915 when Australian and New Zealand troops landed on the beaches of Gallipoli (now called ANZAC Cove) to fight the Turks and over the following 8 months.
With the Sea at their back, and steep hills to their front, the ANZACs were fighting a losing battle but slugged it out anyway like the true heros they are.

16000 men and women were transported to ANZAC Cove over the 8 months they were stationed there, off that, 900 were killed, over 2000 wounded or died travelling/at home, 4 were taken prisoner.

I like may others, had family who fought in WWI, and lost them there. I cherish and grasp onto their sacrifice , the freedom they gave us, and the respect they had for this country.

"They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them."

Lest We Forget.

38 US Troops KIA in Wardak Provice, Afghanistan 2011.
The deaths included:

  • 15 U.S. Navy SEALs from the Naval Special Warfare Development Group's Gold Squadron "Team 6"
7 Afghan National Army Commandos, part of Afghan National Army
5 U.S. Naval Special Warfare support personnel.
3 U.S. Army Reserve personnel from the 7th Battalion, 158th Aviation Regiment
2 U.S. Navy SEALs from a west coast based SEAL team 5.
2 U.S. Army personnel from the 2nd Battalion, 135th Aviation Regiment, part of Colorado Army National Guard
2 U.S. Air Force Pararescuemen from the 24th Special Tactics Squadron
1 U.S. Air Force Combat Controller from the 24th Special Tactics Squadron
    1 Afghan civilian interpreter
    1 U.S. Military Working Dog

On 6 August 2011, a U.S. Boeing CH-47 Chinook military helicopter was shot down while transporting a quick reaction force attempting to reinforce an engaged unit of Army Rangers in Wardak province, west of Kabul, Afghanistan. The resulting crash killed all 38 people on board—25 American special operations personnel, five United States Army National Guard and Army Reserve crewmen, seven Afghan commandos, and one Afghan interpreter—as well as a U.S. military working dog. It is considered the worst loss of U.S. Military life in a single incident in the Afghanistan campaign, surpassing Operation Red Wings in 2005

Gone but not Forgotten.

Brunno Manfredi Guido

Post by Flyin Mikey J on Fri 11 Dec 2015 - 15:41

I am very sad to hear the passing of Brunno Manfredi Guido, who raced with R2GT under the gamertag R2GT Megadeth, prior Maicol Nite.

At 24 years of age, he was taken way to young.
