ok so this thread is pretty self explanatory.
when you see something and think WTF were they thinking or the link then post it here, because there is some weird s**t out there, but keep it appropriate to an extent, you know what is and isn't right for a public forum so i'm gonna kick things off

Unfortunately it didn't pan out, and Luca Badoer remains, statistically, the least successful F1 driver in history. I think people were quite harsh on him. He did very well in F3000, but after years of driving for Minardi, and then not racing for ten years, what did everyone expect?

Giancarlo Fisichella didn't fare any better, and he had put that Force India on the front row at Spa the year before!

The same thing could be asked of Stewart Hass Racing "hiring" Danica, but just like Max Chilton and Marussia: Money. When a driver brings more money to the team than is available to win every race in the series, you put them in a car and tell the World how much of a great talent they are.

Danica = Money

Money = Better cars/people

Better cars/people = Winning


Somewhere down the line Danica is enabling someone to win even though she is too busy crying and whining to do it herself.

^ In threory that would be true. In reality, not so much. Stewart Haas had both cars in the Chase last year with multiple wins, this year both of SHR's top cars have one win each.

At Andretti Autosport, they won two Championships and Indy 500s before she brought all that Go Daddy money, with Dan Wheldon and Dario Franchitti. Then no 500s or Championships for the five years she was there. Then the year after she left, they win the Championship with Ryan Hunter Rhey.

Danica = distraction. It seems all the best minds are wasting time trying to make her somewhat competitive, instead of focusing on the cars that can actually win.

As cars evolve, there have been plenty of WTF??? moments:

Mustang II
1982 Camaro - with a 4 cylinder Vega engine
2002 Thunderbird
Drum brakes on 2013 US VWs (apparently stopping wasn't ranked a priority on a US test committee for VW)

Because it's in common use. The OED has to add any words in common use, because that's the point of a Dictionary. Whether those words get added to the published Dictionary book is another thing all together, however.
