2014 V8 Supercars Championship (and other Australian Racing)

with a rearrange of drivers from teams and one massive retirement after last year, 2014 is set to be a great year for the V8SC.
the new Volvo has been released and it look great

new sponsorships have been made with different teams this year; Snap on is now the official sponsor for Erebus Motorsport while SP tools has been stolen by the Holdens and Wilkinshaw Racing (HRT)
new formats have come and gone, the 60-60 super sprint is believed to be one of them (thank god they're gone)

I'm really hoping I'll get to see more of the V8's this year. I absolutely love them but I never seen many races last year despite them being on Motors TV.

The V8s are on Motors TV here in the UK, hopefully I can keep up with this season!

Loved that Volvo teaser.

If there is any series which even comes close to how good the BTCC was in the late 90s, then it's the Aussie V8s.

V8s need more TV coverage in America.

Apparently "Premier Sports" Has all the races live (what was once Setanta and NASN) , 551 on my V-Box, its currently "part of the xl" package, It's completely seperate to ths Sky Sports and BT Sports packages on anyone's Sky boxes.

Doesn't Premier Sports also have NASCAR live? It's a shame, NASCAR on its own isn't enough for me to buy a subscription. I'll just stick with Sky Sports

The enforcer is back!

V8 Supercar star Russell Ingall has confirmed he will compete full-time in the 2014 V8 Supercars Championship for Lucas Dumbrell Motorsport.

Ingall, the 2005 V8 Supercar Champion, has signed to drive a Triple Eight Race Engineering-built Holden Commodore VF for the team and made the announcement today in Melbourne.

The Nunawading (Melbourne) based team has undergone a major restructure in the off-season and, after running two cars last season, will field a single car program in 2014.

Corporate smash repair group Repair Management Australia was also confirmed as naming rights backer of Ingall’s #23 Commodore with major support from Castrol and Holden.

Ingall, 49, is entering his 19th season full-time in Australia’s top motorsport category and says he made the decision to join a small, single car team for a number of reasons.

the week i've been looking forward to for 3/4 of a year is finally here!
with some 56 cars ready to race on Sunday it is going to be fantastic

All I can say is, Bring on the Mountain!
and one last thing, Allan Simonsen drivng the Maranello Ferrari last year during qualifying:

he went so fast, it was classed as illegally fast and they had to put an extra 50kg on the car to bring it back to pace with the others    
just wish he could be there again this year in the flesh,

it's because of the noise restrictions in the area, Mt Panorama and Bathurst are quite populated and the Mountains in the area kind of work like amplifiers and, well amplify the noise on track so they have to have an early start to finish earlier otherwise it'll disrupt people at home blah blah blah and that's what the government said and i'm not gonna question them (out loud) because I love this race.

it was all lined up but then the thing got butt burt and cencsored the d*ck in D*ck Johnson racing so had to uncensor it and it all went out and ICBF realigning it all again

So back to Bathurst 12H, on day one of practice it was Maro Engle to set the fastest lap, not only of the day, but a new track lap record with a 2:04.5 quicker than Simonsen last year
Granted the track was resurfaced a month ago so it's quicker

Bathurst 12 hour on in about 30 seconds minutes!
