TORA Christmas Message 2015 Empty TORA Christmas Message 2015

2015 has been a year of regrowth at TORA. After a challenging 2014 the staff team along with the Community Team, marshals and stewards have worked so hard to bring TORA back to the leading edge of sim racing activities.

We welcomed 932 new racers to the community in 2015, a number that saw us surpass the 4000 mark. This marks the largest increase in a single twelve month period in TORA’s history.
TORA has attracted big name championships and supporters to its portfolio and continues to gain the respect of the motorsport industry through superb and innovative racing as well as excellently produced video and audio media output. In May TORA commenced a partnership with radiolemans.com to produce and air TORA’s radio show now referred to as TRS. The show regularly picks up between 1400-1900 live listeners each month and marks the next stage in a friendship between RLM and TORA that dates back to 2009.

We strengthened our ties with key developers and publishers. Codemasters, Slightly Mad Studios and Turn 10 have all been extremely generous to us either with helpful information, media support, competition prizes or face to face meetings. Our involvement in the Forza Fuel event in Austin, Texas was unprecedented and a huge success. We thank Microsoft for the opportunity to be a part of that.
We will strive to develop even closer ties with these key players in the sim racing market and where we can, offer guidance and support to bring the community voice directly to the people who need to know. We pride ourselves on being a well respected member of the sim racing and real motorsport communities.

TORA also welcomed the Avon Tyres British GT Championship to its portfolio with a debut on Slightly Mad Studios’ Project CARS title. A challenging yet highly rewarding championship ultimately won by the Bentley of BAM Python (Scot Swan), a well deserved champion.
We also saw championships supported by Rogue Motorsport and the Maximum Group VAG Trophy take place across Forza 5 and 4 respectively.
The closing stages of the year has seen further successes as WIX Racing leant their support to the TORA Touring Car Championship and the FIA Formula E Championship will be supporting a debut series on Forza 6 with prizes.
Already looking forward into 2016 we will have the Race Tech TORA Endurance Championship, Base Performance Production GT Championship, Team HARD VW Cup, season 2 of the Rogue Motorsport Cup and potential support for USA based championships in the coming months.

On a personal level, I must offer my sincere thanks to the rest team working behind the scenes to keep every aspect of TORA running smoothly. We go into 2016 in a far stronger position than twelve months ago and we can only build from here.
I would also like to thank every one of our supporters and backers for their continuing belief in our mission to close the gap between the virtual and real motorsport communities.

Wishing you all a very happy holiday season and a prosperous 2016!
Matt
