Re: CJ Wilson Cayman Cup: Laptimes

Post by Grifkylian on Mon 9 May 2016 - 3:04

Ran 2:14.9's consistently before tires fell off. I know I'm losing time in turn 1, the turn 7 hairpin, and into the last turn. If you don't mind me asking, what are you guys trapping at the end of the back straight before the final turn? I'm hitting 151-153 mph...

Finally got some time yesterday to get some decent laps in and try some slight tuning. Still struggling with grip, and that last turn is a coin flip every time. If anyone wants to share a tune with a backmarker, I'd be happy to try it out!

A depressing 2:18.318 in my second lap around Sebring using my Daytona tune. Not good, I think it's because it's a track with lots of kerbs, and kerbs are my worst enemy. Mad

Managed a 2:17:47 but was never able to reproduce it. Running clean 2:19's over and over again. T1 makes no sense to me and Im not able to do the whole "just lift and turn" thing that everyone says you can do at Sebring, I just push wide off at track out...

ill share my tune for tonight when I get on I'm running low 14's
no if your in first for the hairpin your losing time by the end of that stretch
momentum at Sebring seems to be paramount, brake early, turn in early get on the throttle early hope this helps Smile

Managed to get high 33's with some tuning, think I just need to try and find some time in lapping now rather than any more tuning

I doubt :30's will happen for qualifying. Possible? Sure! But we only have 4 good laps without going dirty for the lap and the tires won't last. Everyone be careful with the corkscrew. You can cut it a little bit but too far in and you'll go to a dirty lap. Smile

I'm stuck in the low 34s despite splits for a low to mid 33 on a few laps. I've given up trying until qualifying.

I'm trying to get it down but low 33's are my limit. That's with being cautious on the Corkscrew.
