Forza 3 Speculation Empty Forza 3 Speculation

Post by Richy59 Thu 14 May 2009 - 10:08

Well, since we know that it IS coming later this year we may as well start talking about it.

First off, we have all read the rumours that its going to have over 100 tracks and 400 cars or something.

http://xbox.joystiq.com/2008/06/15/rumor-forza-3-will-have-2-discs-400-cars-more/

And, annoyingly which I should have really thought about is that it looks like the game will finally have the ability to use a wheel with a clutch and gear stick. The Fanetic Porsche wheel has even been delayed to accommodate...

http://kotaku.com/5253076/new-forza-3-wheel-showing-at-e3

I just bought the MS one! Mad

Knowing micro$oft and how locked down the 360 is anyway I would be very suprised if it was possible. Annoyingly though I'm sure its possible in reverse.

As for the new Forza...I don't think theres a great deal broken to fix. Hopefully we'll see more cars on track, less predictable AI, more realistic damage and collisions online...no more huge wrecks from love taps, and changeable weather/time of day is a must now in my opinion. I can't see it happening but it would be nice to see telemetry graphed after a race.
We'll definately see more tracks/cars, and improved physics/graphics so if they manage to fix what I've mentioned and include a proper series format to the career mode then I won't have any major grumbles.

I would like to see set-up parameters such as camber, caster and spring rate being changed to each individual wheel, it will improve set-ups vastly!

Tracks wise, I want to see a couple of ovals like Milluwaukee, Bristol, Darlington and Daytona. Road Courses wise I wouldnt mind seeing Lime Rock Park, Mid-Ohio, Brands Hatch, Nurburgring GP as well as the tracks in Forza 2. I KNOW that we will see the return of Forza 1 tracks like Blue Mountain (Bathurst-esque track). I would love to see more street circuits, fictional or real life. Long Beach is a must. I would also love to see a handfull of real life rally stages, the Col Du Turnini could be laser scanned surely?

A cockpit veiw is definetaly needed, even if its Toca Race Driver 3 styled.

I loved Blue Mountain, I was gutted when that track wasn't in Forza 2. I have read somerset that the excellent point-to-point races up and down the hills will be back so I can't wait for that. Some TORA togue is in order Wink

Weather is almost confirmed because they have been quoted to be bigging up their new water that is in game, kinda like how Bungie went on and on about theirs for Halo 3 Razz

Infact, what I reeaaaly want to see in Forza 3 is some Aussie cars like in Gran Turismo. There was a seperate Ford of Australia garage.

I wouldnt mind seeing the VE Commodore or the New Falcon in the car list.

And forget about Blue Mountain, I want the real thing, I want Mount Panorama.

Forza 3 Speculation Empty Re: Forza 3 Speculation

Post by nickyf1 Fri 15 May 2009 - 22:50

well mabey not widebody kits NFS style, but there should be options to lower the car significantly so that the wheels cant fit in the arches, and wider, higher arches are required (Supertourers from 1999 onwards).

Road cars should also have some sort of R class conversion option which fits a car out with suitable parts for different rulesets (i.e taking a SEAT Leon and selecting *S2000* or more realisticaly *R4 Touring* or something)

Also more selection of Forza wings, like having several different strut locations, endplate styles and number of movable elements.

And for gods sake, when i want WHITE rims, I mean WHITE Razz that needs to be fixed.

Variable weather too please, and the ability to put different compunds on a car like in Gran Turismo 4, i.e being able to have softs on the front and mediums on the rear. This option to have different compounds on a car could be turned off in online races. An option to have an 'optional tyre' rule in online races should be used aswell like in IRL, F1 and V8SC. Fuel Loads are important too, animated pit crews, variable pit times which should bring strategy into play, strategy options before online races with plan A's and plan B's etc. And I would love to see some proper tyre physics like bending tyre walls, exploding tyres which rip up bodywork, bodywork leaning on tyres which creates smoke and ultimately bursts them, individual locking up wheels and even cosmeticaly, having the brand logos on tyres which would look real nice.

As far as the online racing itself goes, we need 12 or 16 players in a lobby please, with 16 players you could even have driver changes integrated into the game. Automated rolling starts as an option would be nice. Races could be run as timed races, aswell as lapped races. You could enter in a distance, say 200km and the race would take on the amount of laps that 200k's takes. Safety Car periods too??

Its alot I know Razz Theres so much more i could put in this post!

a lot of what has been mentioned sounds sweet. and nicky, i saw you mention Lime Rock Park. if its the one in Connecticut, and not an identically named one, then im maybe about an hour's drive from there! Very Happy

The one thing i didnt like about the DLC's that came out for FM2, the EvoX made it in, but not the new STi! That needs to be rectified for FM3. cant have a proper Evo vs STi battle w/o the latest version of each, ya know!

some cars/tracks id like to see in FM3 that wasnt already mentioned:
(besides the new '08-'09 STi)
Mustang FR500's
2010 Mustang GT & Shelby GT500
Lexus ISF
2010 Ford Fusion, Toyota Camry, Chevy Impala SS, and Dodge Charger (with RWD swaps of nascar regulated engines - for those NASCAR FANS. Very Happy )
DeTomaso Pantera
1980 BMW M1
UTE's (Ford/Pontiac/Holden...)

----How bout some Motorcycles?! (Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, Ducati, Suzuki... Those FM drivers in our cars r wearing race suits. why not getting to see them or customize them!!)

-Daytona Super Speedway & Infield (take notice T10. Polyphony beat you to this one)
-Infineon Raceway (all variations)
-Waltkins Glen (all variations)
-Atlanta Motor Speedway (early 90's and current configuration)
-Gilles Villeneuve Circuit

Only thing about the bikes is it makes the game start to go into PGR4 territory...and no one wants to see that!

I DO think we will see an increased number of real tracks. These will probably be US based mainly as there are so many European ones which are covered by licenses for other games. I'm not sure how that works whether they are exclusive or not.
Certainly, more Euro tracks would be great. There does seem to be a focus on US and Japan in FM2 where REAL tracks are concerned. Seeing this balanced out without losing the current crop would be great.
I think adding Paul Ricard and all its variants as another test venue would be great as would Portimao or even the Ascari Resort circuit.
There are certainly plenty of options but I wouldn't put too much hope on getting many more F1 based tracks, I bet they cost a bomb to license.

Some european cars need to be put in instead of rubbish american ones. For example cars like Vauxhall, Ford Mondeo, Focus RS, Reanult Megane, Laguna, Alfa Romeo, Fiat 500 Abarth. Cars like this would be great for touring car championships. Also more GT cars would be good to see.

I think there will still be an emphasis on the ALMS in terms of ACTUAL GT machinery but it would be good to have more European cars that we can convert. Some slightly more realistic sports packages for the aero would be nice too.
Never was happy with the look of the Forza exhausts coming out of the bumper!

make it an option as to what type of race, the lobby is set to. if its an 'Endurance' race, the number of laps could range from 15 to 100 (no jumping as u mentioned). or something like that. if a 'Sprint Race', then the laps range from 1 to 15.

One of Microsoft's worst kept secrets, Forza Motorsport 3, has seemingly leaked yet again, via an internet listing for its official strategy guide.

The Forza Motorsport 3 Prima game guide appeared on Amazon.de today, and it's the latest leak pointing to a surely inevitable reveal at Microsoft's E3 press conference next month.

Moving On

Here are 20 cars, which I would like to see in FM3.

Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione
Aston Martin V8 Vantage "This is the car I wanted in FM2, so it could take part in the Tora GT."
Aston Martin One-77
Audi A8 W12
Austin Mini Cooper S
BMW 320si E90 "This is the car me and Matt wanted in FM2, so it could take part in the Touring Cars."
BMW M3 GT2
Bristol Fighter T
Ferrari P4/5 by Pininfarina
Ford Capri Mk III
Ford Escort Mk1
Ford Focus RS "2009"
Jaguar XF-R

TVR Griffith 500
TVR Sagaris GT3
TVR T400R
Vauxhall Insignia VXR "Allow us to convert it to FWD or RWD, so it can compete in the FM3 Tora Touring Cars."

Note: This list contains cars, which have never been in a FM game.
