Yeah, 2 stops won't fly for this race. Has to be 3 at least as the car we are likely to go in has to pit after 28 minutes.

Not sure where he got 2 stops from tbh mate, as far as im aware nothing has been set
Re: TORA TEC Bathurst 12H - General Discussion
Probably will need to be 4, just to cover the bases for the cars that aren't good on fuel.

It'll be 4 stops. The Audi and 458 are the reasons why it's not 3.

Re: TORA TEC Bathurst 12H - General Discussion
4 stops, do about 14 laps on fuel, 15 maximum and maybe pushing it a bit.
I am hoping it'll be sim damage and not just tyre/fuel wear because then it gets rid of the Mountains biggest difficulty, missing walls so you don't die,
Looking forward to a great event though

Re: TORA TEC Bathurst 12H - General Discussion
It's gotta be full sim. We are not strangers to this track or this game. That would ruin a great event if people freely wall rid their way around the track.

Re: TORA TEC Bathurst 12H - General Discussion
The only reason we turned off damage for Le Mans was to balance out some absurdities when it came to fuel mileage in LMP. Since the track isn't too long and there's only one class, full damage isn't an issue anymore.

What he said, definitely full sim damage for the rest of the season now the LMP's are gone
Re: TORA TEC Bathurst 12H - General Discussion
When will stints (and stint times) and qualifying be opened?
Re: TORA TEC Bathurst 12H - General Discussion
Could someone please tell why this has taken so long ? The team I was in has just pulled out because lack of organised from TORA... 2 days to go until the start of qualifying and we don't know what the PI are.And the qualifying thread is not even up. Everything should be done 1 week before the start of the race to give teams time to pick their cars make their paints and sort out drivers stints.
I know I am going to get lots of abuse for saying this but... am I wrong ?

Re: TORA TEC Bathurst 12H - General Discussion
You are within your right to ask for more and to demand a higher standard.
Everyone wants these builds to be correct and I can assure that what you see on the doc now will be the finalised list (hopefully I am not stepping on toes). I would encourage you to pick a car and start practising, any changes that will be made or could be made would be utterly miniscule. We've got our car ready, tuned and finalised a few days now even with the build list not finalised. I'm not involved the background chatter but given what I've tested and read, it's safe to assume we are where we need to be.

Re: TORA TEC Bathurst 12H - General Discussion
Many of us have hopped into this rather late, i.e. since the beginning of the week, to help with balancing. Balancing should in fact have been completed a couple weeks ago.
For future races these things shouldn't happen.

Re: TORA TEC Bathurst 12H - General Discussion
The reason I've held back a little on this round was because I knew the Merge was coming.
I didn't want to throw anything out there in-case we could have done better once the merge happens, which it now has, and we have more support for it,
The builds are most likely now correct but I'll officially sign them off tonight,
As for qualifying, this always has and always will depend on which Marshals we have available on which days,
This will be sorted this weekend and only when this is done, the qualifying thread will be put up, there is no point putting this up and promising dates if we don't have cover for it.
We still have over a week until the race so there is still plenty of time to get things finalized

I don't think I've seen a single positive word come from you on these forums...
The complaint about PI is almost completely invalid. The builds are PROVISIONAL and PUBLIC, which means YOU can make suggestions as to what needs to change or stay the same - something that others have been doing, but not you. Furthermore, if anything DOES change from what we have suggested so far, it will be extremely minimal; your car choice shouldn't depend on a potential change in 2-3 PI at the most for a few cars in the rather large lineup we have.
TL;DR: If you're not contributing anything yourself, just pick a car and run it already.

I do it because all you do is moan about everything. If you have an issue with how something is run, PM a staff member.

Re: TORA TEC Bathurst 12H - General Discussion
There is a constructive way to highlight concerns and criticisms. TORA is a community ran by the racers for the racers. So if you race as much as you do and want to contribute to making it better then get involved.
I don't think there's much grounds for complaint in this case as most of the cars were pretty damn good especially in the open format we chose to do for this. Whilst under 'provisional' state, most of the cars were good to go and shouldn't stop you from testing. Quite the contrary, we wanted to encourage it. So we could highlight any cars that might be too good or a bit off the general pace. And so far this method has made a really good set of cars.
This process will only get better now we have a LOT of data on the cars and we've assembled a strong team to test moving forward.

This.
I don't want to be another part in some sort of argument here, but I just wanted to mention that these builds have been in the works behind the scenes for weeks. A couple of us discussed introducing more cars and came up with what we felt was a competitive list of builds. However, with it being the first time we've balanced many of these cars, recent issues with BoP, and knowing that a few people can't always find over performing cars, we didn't want to stamp them right away. This whole "Provisional Builds" thing is new, and I think it's a step in the right direction, as it opens up better communication once we get used to it.
You just have to remember that when Provisional Builds get posted, these aren't just random builds we've put together. They have already been tested and adjusted to the point where someone, or some people, already feel that they are competitive.
I've got no beef, just trying to help explain things so we can all better understand the process

Re: TORA TEC Bathurst 12H - General Discussion
But what about the small teams wanting to enter. It's all well and good saying "you have a week to sort stuff out" but what about getting drivers in, stints sorted with people who you don't speak to on most days, cars choice sort etc. I've just had to pull 3 teams cause Ik I won't be able to sort all that stuff out in time for the race which is annoying.
Could I suggest a "feeder" series for next year in which, only "smaller" teams can enter (only 6 or 12h hour races) cause I feel that would help out with the making of new teams and making existing ones stronger. With the increased number of staff, this may be possible and would help greatly.
