Daytona 24 Winter Testing December 17 & 18
After N24 is over I am trying to host a test session(s) throughout two days where we can test the cars to evenly match them. I also would like to know if we are doing LMP(Mazda and Rebellion) or DP's Since they havent been used in any race. let me know who is in so i can save you a parking spot

Balancing cars is what the Devs will be doing for next year. We're already planning our 2017 specifications
If you'd like, you can get involved behind the scenes and help the effort

One C is better.

Yeah some this hard work has already been done at VEC. It's worth contacting Lotterer for the information in the docs.

Re: Daytona 24 Winter Testing December 17 & 18
I apart of dev team now, my main goal was to hopefully have builds alresy then run that as a test session to see how they run at race pace
Re: Daytona 24 Winter Testing December 17 & 18
If you need any help with anything, I would be more than happy to help, as would some of my team
Re: Daytona 24 Winter Testing December 17 & 18
I wasnt around for the Daytona race earlier this year, but lookong at the forum for it, it seems the race info and build configs were posted on Dec 16, 2015.
Should we expect to see the 2017 Daytona forum thread pop up in the next 2 weeks so we can begin working on car selection and tuning?

Re: Daytona 24 Winter Testing December 17 & 18
I would be very interested in in helping test the BOPs for you guys. I am one to believe that a broad section of lap times is very beneficial. I would probably run a bit slower but overall would provide some good data. BOPing is my favorite part of Forza, I'm just not that good at it.

Re: Daytona 24 Winter Testing December 17 & 18
The lack of official direction on this is disappointing... "Lots of work already done" "dev team on it" etc... Then 7 or 8 people volunteer to help and theres no response?
I thought the dev team wanted more help, wanted more feedback, wanted people to be involved early instead of complaining after? Well?

Re: Daytona 24 Winter Testing December 17 & 18
I won't be able to join you guys with testing within the small rest of this year anymore, but I'd like to offer myself as a tester at least for the next year. But I can only test and give feedback. Tuning is absolutely not my area.
But if I could make a small request to be considered if possible: Get the tunes working so that the teams can be bound to their cars again until changing from LMP/DP/GT to GT/TCC/+?. Hopping from car to car from race to race is a f*cking pain the ass for both tuners and designers of the team and the real world teams don't do it either.
And another (actually even more important) point of mine is: Keep the NISMO GT-R LMP away from the LMP1 class!
Open up an LMP2 class as used in VEC or just leave it out. Please?!
(Same for the R8 LMS if it's simply too thirsty on fuel)(Avoid mandatory pit stops as much as possible)
Thanks in advance and looking forward to productively taking part in January
Cheers

The N24 just ended, so no, not much has been said because Dev Team/Staff has been focused on that. Now that the N24 is done, we can turn our attention to Daytona.
Part of the reason why not much has been said is because we need builds established (which aren't ready yet, but I am testing this week to get them done for a base BoP) and without giving away the farm, it's going to be a bit different than last years event in terms of class structure. My goal would be to have builds done in the next few days so that they can be tested for this 17/18th provisional test, and so that they can be refined and complete by Christmas, which would give the community a month or so to test and prep for the 24 Hours of Daytona.
Part of the reason, again, not giving away the farm here, why not much has been said is because somethings need to fall into place before everything goes live. It's all very exciting behind the scenes but all the T's have to be crossed, the I's dotted, etc...
When we have info, it'll be posted, and the more that test the cars and give feedback, the merrier. I (and the Dev team) will certainly appreciate the help.

Nobody doubts the hard work you guys put into this and I don't think anyone expects a 3 day turn-around between N24 and a finalized Daytona package, but you spending 2 minutes to respond with this update just now actually goes a long way to help with the community perception of "TORA doesn't communicate well".
You guys definitely deserve a mental break after N24 but thanks again for taking a minute to chime in and acknowledge all the people eager to help with whatever comes next.

Re: Daytona 24 Winter Testing December 17 & 18
That's the one thing about public perception regarding staff that I hope to change- I think people "know" that a lot work is in fact done behind the scenes but a lack of transparency between the public and the admins/staff takes away from that. I've had the same thought before I was staff, and now that I am on the other side, it's my primary goal to amend this.

Re: Daytona 24 Winter Testing December 17 & 18
Hello friends.
I participated in the 12 hours of Silverstone with the team XRS and I have fallen in love with this competition.
I like the format of the race like this, but I think we should work even more on equalizing the performance of the cars. Of course, this is the most difficult task of all ... It would also remove Lamborghini Hurricane from the list.
There are many drivers on the XRS team interested in the Race Tec and we are looking forward to the new season.
I would like to participate on days 17 and 18 in the test days, I hope to have availability of schedules to be with you.
