Re: TORA Carrera Cup 2018 - GENERAL DISCUSSION
Can series organisers double check each topic for stated dates, times and series name? There are quite a few mistakes in numerous topics (and Twitter).

Twitter was my mistake because I am at work - balancing running a department with this (a hobby let's not forget)
Re: TORA Carrera Cup 2018 - GENERAL DISCUSSION
Lethal Gaming Racing team will be looking forward to this. Sadly I'll be missing all these races due to school & golf that I have to do.
Re: TORA Carrera Cup 2018 - GENERAL DISCUSSION
500hp porsche with no front aero. I get you want to make the series realistic but that just makes the car terrible to drive. All 911s have horrendous understeer in forza and you want to compound the issue because they don't have a front splitter in real life? Seem ludicrous to me.

Bummed I can't compete in this series due to my work schedule on week days. Good luck to everyone competing!

Re: TORA Carrera Cup 2018 - GENERAL DISCUSSION
I've registered but without having the car unlocked it's a shot in the dark as to whether I'll even enjoy driving it.
Even then I'm going to be on the back foot when it comes to building and tuning the thing (whenever it turns up).
Seriously, along with no class leaderboards, locking close to 15% of the cars (93 locked/(688 total at release - 34 Forza Editions)) so you can't just go to the dealership and buy one has to be up there alongside filling the Hindenburg With Hydrogen.

I would compete, but working on the weekdays. Have fun everyone! I'll watch the standings!
Re: TORA Carrera Cup 2018 - GENERAL DISCUSSION
Please note that due to a bug found on our docs that affected a number of series the Carrera Cup is being pushed back by a week to allow the bug to be removed and docs reproduced. This will also allow teams more time to prepare for the season.
Round 1 is now 15th May

Then you should have the correct car. It starts at a stock PI of S750.OG Mr Angry wrote:Is the car a 911 or 991 ? It states 991 in vehicle build but cant find the car. I know its a loot car and i have the 2016 911 GT3 RS
The 911 is the model of the car. The 991 is the generation of car (previous gerations include 997, 996, 993 etc.)

I cant seem to be able to see the livery images in order to put the logos in the right place, also if people can't paint how are they ment to do a livery ? Yes I can paint but haven't the time to make up all the logos needed for the comp due to work and I can't share a paint and ask the person who can't paint to put stuff on due to us not being able to share locked stuff. I understand you want it as close to real life but this is a silly for some to psint

If your doing a team paint create the main portion of it without the logos you can't make and group and share each area e.g. left side.right side.front.rear and roof.
And then get team mates to download the other required vinals from bigben

Re: TORA Carrera Cup 2018 - GENERAL DISCUSSION
Any thoughts on track limits for Hockenheim? Obviously in a few other TORA series the turn 1 extension has been allowed to make the racing and stewarding easier to handle; I am curious to see if we could do the same for this series as well.

Re: TORA Carrera Cup 2018 - GENERAL DISCUSSION
I would guess the ruling would be the same as we had in Hot Hatch.
The green out of Turn 1 ("Forza clean") to be allowed but no more.

Re: TORA Carrera Cup 2018 - GENERAL DISCUSSION
There was some funky stuff going on with fuel and tyre wear last night.
In Race 1: ESC Darken, MRT ANM 79, THR Astonash, ProvokedLeaf347 and myself all show as having no tyre wear in my replay.
In Race 2: ESC Darken, MRT ANM 79, THR Astonash and iAaronSweeney all show as having no tyre wear in my replay.
I did notice in Race 1 but it was not until around Lap 6 (when they tyres typically start yellowing in the HUD) by which time I thought it would be too late to call for a restart and had no idea if it was an issue isolated to myself.
When we got back to the lobby after the race, I checked the settings and they were all as they should be with damage set to simulation etc. - see image at bottom of post for verification.
For me, tyre wear came back for Race 2 and I definitely felt the car handling differently as the race progressed.
However, with an issue like this being present it needs testing to see whether it is the car, the track, the game and what can be done about it. I know going to cosmetic damage only would probably be a last resort but we need to find something to make it fair.

This has been a known issue in other series already.
The known glitch in the game here are the personal settings of the drivers in the assists menu.
Therefore we ask all competitors to check their personal settings are also set to simulation so as to stop this glitch from happening.
So to all competitors please check in future your assists are set to Simulation Damage as well.
If this is not the case then it can lead to an unfair advantage and maybe result in a minor penalty.
If the glitch does occur for you it is your responsibility to let the lobby host know so that in a case where it is crucial they can deal with the situation as and when it comes.
Many thanks.

It's interesting that you say it's a known issue yet there is nothing covering it in the rules, it's never been mentioned in a lobby and I don't see any sticky post about it - something the staff and marshalls should probably consider doing if there could be penalties handed out for it.
Granted, I've only been back on TORA (and FM7 for that matter) for a couple of months now but this is the first time I've noticed it. If it is something that has been discussed in my absence then it is entirely possible that it could happen to future new and returning members.
Hopefully my raising of this issue will promote some sort of awareness of this issue for others too.
