Heh and there was me thinking I might be spending a bit less time in paint mode.
Does anyone know if the paint is locked after you've gifted a car?

I think everything that goes onto the storefront is locked automatically.

Just a quick question, is it possible to buy liveries before you own the car?

Anything that gets sold, storefront or auction house, is done so locked. No way around it. And once you gift the car, it is locked, basically as soon as the car leaves your garage its locked and there is nothing you can do about.

And yes Britracer you can still buy the livery before owning the car its meant to go on.

...damn

But your wrong about the Gifting lock. I tested that today with Ian and I gifted him a car with a logo i made on it to see if he could save it and it worked fine. The logo was locked as if it had been bought from the Storefront, but he could still edit the design of the car.

Thats going to be fun trying to sort team paints out then...

If I download a TORA number board then I can put it onto a car but then can't gift it to a team mate because of the locked vinyl group it contains.
If I instead create the paint and gift it to a team mate so that they can add the number board then they won't be able to do it as the car will be locked by the time it reaches them.

Only way around it would be to save the whole of one side/end of the car as a vinyl group and put that on the storefront
....I hope I'm wrong.

We figured that to do things like that then we will just have to leave the Number boxes black so that other people can put their numbers on top of the number box layer

Well, I sent garyp3398 one of my TORA Imprezas and he was able to pull everything off it, but then all the logos were made by me that were on it in the first place. I also gifted him my ABS vinyl which he was able to dissect too.

gifted stuff can be edited, its just the stuff that gets sold through the storefront that can't and is locked.

Just wanna say thanks to everyone who has rated my TORA Imprezas. The black one is now the fourth highest rated design for the Subaru Impreza WRX Sti 08, and the white one is not far behind. Brilliant considering the number fo Ken Block and WRC designs there are cluttering up the list!

The higher it goes and stays there, the more we promote TORA, so if you haven't got it already... WHY NOT!? IT'S FREE!!!
