R4 Challenge Cup Mini Series Empty R4 Challenge Cup Mini Series

Post by Crisis Nine Wed 5 Aug 2009 - 8:01

So I was playing some R4 races last night and it was some of the closest racing I have ever seen in some awesome cars with brilliant liveries and builds and it made me think that an R4 mini series would be really good if there was enough interest. So I was thinking that we could maybe do a three round mini series with rules as follows?

Three rounds

USA - Sunset Penninsula Reverse
Europe - Mugello
Asia - Suzuka

Car selection

All R4 cars are available for selection but a maximum of two of each LIVERY will be permitted only.

Assists

ABS - Off
TCS - On
STM - Off
Collisions - On
Tires & Fuel - Simulation
Damage - Limited

Race format

Qualifying - Three laps, one warm up, one hot lap, one cool down.

Race one - Five laps, standing start, quickest lap will determine grid position for race two.

Race two - Nine laps, standing start, quickest lap will determine grid position for race three.

Race three - Fifteen laps, standing start.

No pitstops are required unless necessary.

Points

No points for qualifying

Race one:

1st - 50
2nd - 40
3rd - 35
4th - 30
5th - 28
6th - 26
7th - 24
8th - 22
9th - 20
10th - 18 etc...

Race two:

1st - 70
2nd - 60
3rd - 55
4th - 50
5th - 48
6th - 46
7th - 44
8th - 42
9th - 40
10th - 38 etc...

Race three:

1st - 100
2nd - 90
3rd - 85
4th - 80
5th - 75
6th - 70
7th - 65
8th - 60
9th - 55
10th - 50 etc...

What does everyone think about this? I think the cars are all pretty evenly matched and are not overpowered at all they feel just right on track and there will be some very close racing to be had.

Would be brilliant if enough people showed an interest and maybe this could be run on the Thursday night slot when it is next free or after the GT and LMS seasons have finished on Sundays?

if the Audi's are still available, then those would be the preferred car in R4. they are practically the LB car (the S4 anyways). a guy i raced with in the COT series put together a series once where it combined B-class with R4's, but he made it RWD only and it was a very fun lil series, but the season fell incomplete due to lack of interest from ppl who started racing it

I was looking to get a draft of the rules posed this weekend and I'm going to make it RWD only. So the two Audi's and the Volvo are to be removed. And as for TCS, its not mandatory its optional like in the GT's and LMS. Is that ok with everyone or would most prefer it to be off completely?
