New Forza 3 patch

A new patch has been released for the game that adds in a few things...

New game modes for multiplayer (including Playground mode - tag anyone?)
Fixes for money glitches
Fixes to the leaderboard

And they've also put back in the animation for gearshifting in both interior and exterior views.

Shame they've yet to fix the awful loading times and the stutter whenever someone comes online or the game saves...

Hopefully they will sort that throttle sticking/track change problem. I honestly have no idea how that got past testing. Its all very well adding detail like tyre deformation and car interiors, but now I now don't have full control over the trottle because they've added an inrace soundtrack that I don't even listen to.

I haven't even noticed that since the game came out, tbh. Wasn't that sorted out ages ago?

Nope. Its still there and its still happening too often.

Its such a fundamental thing to get wrong though. Exiting corners in a RWD with TCS off is almost a lottery.

The easiest thing to do would just be to put an option in to menu to turn the music off. At the moment the only to do it is turn the music volume to 0 which means the tracks still play but with no sound, turn the music to off and then the disc wont keep searching for the next track.

Have either of you installed disc 1 to the HDD?

tbh I haven't noticed it on my game but Ian says it happens to him and I saw it when I was at his last week. very strange.

There was a money glitch? Damn....

What was it? Maybe when I get back I can keep the xbox unplugged till I rack up some billions then plug it back in

Genuinely, have never noticed it, was thinking it was cos of the HDD install.

It involved buying and selling certain cars through the AH, AFAIK, but I don't know which ones.

honestly, the in-car shift animation was there already in the chase-cams. thats the view i use the most. i still want my in-lobby tuning back and split up the damage settings too! and ive never really noticed about the music track problem. and i installed Disc 1 as well... hmm

In-lobby tuning is a must. I really don't care about shift animations inside teh car.

Apparently the shift animation was meant to be in the final release, but they dropped it due to it being pretty ropey, so obviously they made it work and threw it out there. I don't think it's the biggest addition or even the point of this patch.

So whether they include the sound thing as a glitch im not sure.

The shift animation on paddle shifted cars is pretty cool. Nice to be able to see the lil guy working from the outside view aswell

The throttle stick really sucks when you shift by sound. I almost never look at my tach. I have both discs installed and have had the problem since the game came out. It doesn't seem to happen often but it does happen almost daily or more.

I get exactly the same thing. Didn't really notice at first but when it was pointed out a couple weeks ago it's been really bad!

Yeh, I hate that. I naturally lift off the throttle as well, so it's not great when hotlapping

I wish you could skip the irritating intro before each race starts.

Hopefully not a sign of the times, the game locked up after an hour and half of painting, nothing saved. I was simply highlighting layers to move them. How frustrating.

Had my first experience of the stuttering when someone joins a lobby midrace. Quite hard to drive around it but not impossible. More annoying than anything else.
