SBK X
The best (read only) SBK game is out soon by Black Bean. It promises not to disappoint and does look the biz.
The game includes SBK, Supersport and Superstock. (So plenty of choice.)
Gonna get this and give it a blast. More excited about this than Moto GP.
The Special Edition comes with a Legendary Pack which has a good number of the best riders from the ages. So you have Carl, Niel, James, Troy Bayliss and Ben Bostrom (on the rostrom) on their classic Dukes, Edwards and Slight on their title winning Honda SP2's and Chili on the Alstare Corona Suzuki!
Me = HAPPY!!!!

Re: SBK X
I think Blackbean are very good at making nice looking shiny games but they've lacked depth thus far. V8 Superstars is a good example of that.
Wasn't a massive fan of the previous iterations of SBK games but thsi really does look pretty damn impressive!!

Re: SBK X
I'll tell you what else, boy can you tell the difference between the Supersport and SBK machinery!
The WSS Yamaha feels alot lighter in the corners than the Aprilla and seems a little keener to turn in. The riders also seem to hound you a little more and are more likely to be grouped in bigger packs. The fact that the Superstock and WSS bikes have been added into the game is a massive bonus and gives the gamer alot more options to enjoy. It also has the added bonus of making the career mode worthwhile. 8 seasons in JUST WSB would be a little dull. This feature was tried in the SCEE F1 games too but without the supporting classes like GP2 it just seemed a little well.... crap. Having the FULL suporting field to the SBK races there just makes you feel like you'll be actually progressing from a small Superstock team right through to Sterilgarda Yamaha for example. Let's face it, if you haven't worked out how to ride the things after 8 seasons racing you probably shouldn't be there! (And will probably have more than a few virtual broken bones!)
If you don't have much of a patient streak I can see this grating after a little while as the handling does take some getting used to, but that's bikes!
I think the main note of disappointment I can see is the lack of the Silverstone Arena Circuit on the roster. Instead the game chooses to go to Donny which lets face is more suitable for Moto X than SBK just now! Having said that, it remains a good game, as long as it doesn't fall into the 'let's just update the riders/tracks every year' trap they could have a really good thing on their hands.
Graphically, yeah its pretty darn good, a few little things that reminds you it's not running 100% HD here and there but on the whole a very impressive game. It's a shame we can't preview a wet race on the demo, seeing the track drying as we ride would be great and certainly the videos showing this look impressive. We will also be able to put this feature side by side with Codemasters' F1 2010 later in the year to see just how good both systems are. Games are notoriously difficult to accuratly present the spray cast off by moving vehicles in either wet conditions or dusty ones. Codies seem to be onto a winner with their system so far but the SBK devs have done a sterling job with their version. It'll be interesting to see just how good it is in game.
It's a little shame that there isn't scope to have more than 16 players in a lobby BUT if that's 16 players in a strong lobby that doesn't break and doesn't lag all over the place or crash the game like Moto GP then that's awesome and I'll be happy with that.
Can't wait to get my hands on the old 998 Ducatis and Honda SP2's and see if they've got those sounding right. Having been trackside with those bikes I know how awesome they should be
Good job Blackbean!

Re: SBK X
One thing I didn't like about it in the demo was the dampening that happens with the stick, you cant flick the bike very fast..

Reviews and a bike special from Inside Sim Racing
http://blip.tv/file/3736274
They give it around 80-85% which ties in with scores elsewhere. A few negatives but many of those seem to be specific to the PC version. Many of them don't carry over to the console version. Very impressed with their conclusions.

Anyone still enjoying this?
I have really gotten into this and can't wait to win a championship.... which is VERY tough if you play it properly lol.
Haven't been online yet though....
