"Mr Biggs's Musical Thread" (Rock and Metal)

Post by sbiggs on Sun 16 May 2010 - 23:15

Thought I'd enter a subject slightly different from a motor vehicle orientation, or just funny youtube highlights. Now I do understand there's plenty who do not share the same musical taste, but there are some who do. I do see myself a a bit of a music aficionado when it comes to rock and metal but always willing to hear something new.

Ok to start off, at the moment I cannot stop listening to this song...

It seems to grow everytime I listen to it.

And another...

you sir, have great taste in music. Smile hard rock and Metal are my favorite genres. Early Staind, Tool, Static-X, Godsmack, Sevendust, Metallica (of course), Pantera, Slipknot Coal Chamber, Disturbed, and a few others that have slipped my mind at the moment.

i especially like Rock/metal bands covering old hits, like this one:

Coal Chamber - Shock The Monkey
and this one:

Disturbed - Land Of Confusion
...and im sure everyone knows this original..

..of course, there are way too many great covers to list. im just posting a couple.

(side note: i bought the Disturbed album that the Land of Confusion cover was on sight-unheard, as i like their stuff, i heard this song come on, and immediately recognized from listening to it from my childhood)

Disturbed's LoC cover is awesome! Haven't listen to Bodom for ages either. Think I'm having a "hardcore" phase at the moment.

Another fav...

great guitar solo, starts from about 2mins 6secs. Must listen! Razz

Good shout with Rusty Cage too Louis...you heard the Johnny Cash cover?

Download is awesome. Easily the best day of my life so far the day I went last year.

And yeah that Sonic one is preety awesome. They're a Brazilian band called MegaDriver who do all MegaDrive / Genesis music. There's also a band called The Advantage who are made up of most of the band Hella, who do all Nintendo covers.
