I think Forza Kinect is just an offshoot. DW

this Kinect b.s. will tear a black hole for Microsoft. 'Forza Kinect' will fail epicly, and i hope T10 realize this and go back to pleasing the core gamers

I read on Facebook that there was an announcement trailer for Forza 4 at the VGA's last night. They have a major link up with Top Gear as well.

I think Kinect compatibility is a great thing, it means we will be able to get head tracking (i.e, turn your head, and your view on screen turns round) which will make the cockpit view so much better!

Aslong as Kinect isn't the mainstay I think it'll be alright
it also depends on how they move it forward. They really need to PROPERLY move the game on now with Shift 2 and GT5 coming. GT5 will add and expand to improve, Shift 2 will be very good from the get go and I think Forza has a certain level of additions that need to be made to keep it in the frame. And they NEED to start listening to community feedback ALOT more.

as you said Matt, Turn10 needs to get their arses in gear if Fm4 is to compete with the likes of GT5 and Shift2. also, 2 yr intervals between each game isnt a good sign. the game would last for years if you listen to the community and add whats wanted/remove whats not, rather than waiting for the next version.

The background the Ford GT is on is the Top Gear test track.

So pretty sure we're going to have this in FM4. Hope they do all variations, including the short track.

And although I have no interest in Kinect in respect to racing, as a painting tool, it could be useful, depending on its accuracy.

I think buying the Kinect is a risk, because Microsoft can use it to watch people. Other then that, it looks like I will be busy next year.

While still playing that other racing game.

People seem to be forgetting the practical aplications of Kinect. Including easy to use head tracking, which will ramp up the immersion greatly.

Yeah Nicky, but the Playstation Eye has that feature and it doesn't cost £150. I think the Kinect for painting/viewing your cars will be excellent. I just hope they don't go down the "premium car" route where only a selection of cars can be viewed like that. Also some of the scenes in the trailer are from Top Gear USA and we can see that the Ford GT is on the Top Gear UK Test Track. I dunno why Top Gear has all of a sudden became THE thing to have in your racing game. After playing it on GT5 the track really isn't all that great.

To be fair Richy the main reason why it's not all that great in GT5 is because it's not free roaming.
If they treat it like the FM3 Playground where everyone seems to be doing gymkhana then we might have something Smile

I don't know why M$ would want to watch a bunch of randoms staring gormlessly at a TV to be honest.

Theres a couple of hints towards rallying in the trailer though and night racing. As I said no sign of weather except a bit of trackside snow in one clip, and what are the odds of them finally having more than eight cars in a race?

Re: Forza 4

Post by Richy59 on Mon 13 Dec 2010 - 10:07

All I want from Forza 4 is, in no particular order:

More cars on track, 16 would be nice.
More Layers for painting.
The ability to transfer all of my vinyl groups from Forza 3 into Forza 4.
Night racing.
Weather.
The ability to flash my headlights all the time, not just on some tracks a la GT5.
Better Damage, i.e. Doors opeining, bonnets falling off, wheels falling off etc although this isn't essential.
Better Smoke.
Better Graphics, although we have seen the Kinect cars where you can look around that might not be in-race graphics.
The ability to tune in the race lobby!
Rallying if possible, but I will happily play Dirt 3 instead.
More Real Tracks.
More New Cars.

With only a 2 year gap I can't see how they can improve upon Forza 3 as much as I would like, but I hope I am proved wrong. I want GT5 levels of detail but with Forza features. Not much to ask is it?

Re: Forza 4

The only must have's for me are more cars on track, and weather.

Its quite sad that graphics have taken a back seat to gameplay like this. You wouldn't buy a football game that looked stunning at the expense of playing 6-a-side on a full pitch. GP3 managed changeable weather in 2000; playing it then I didn't think that ten years down the line I'd be desperate for it to be included in a game which sells by the million.

And if they can keep this man's offensively conceited face appearing in public again then I'll be a lot happier:

Dont want much then do you Razz but that's everything that you'd expect a game in 2011 to have!
