Re: The Film Thread
"Midnight Heat" is a story of cops, hookers, killers, and pimps; all centered around one sleazy night in the late 1980's. A cocaine addicted homicide detective (Jake Norvell) is brought out of suspension in order to trail a local prostitute (Bianca Queen) who may become the next victim of The Scalper (Nick Foster), a serial killer who preys on the city's hookers. Meanwhile, her mentally unstable pimp (Brad Jones) attempts to get out of the business while finding it harder to protect his girls from both the killer and from an abusive rival pimp (Buford Stowers). Filmed and completed in 2007."

This was an independent movie that was released onto Youtube/Blip, so it shouldn't be a problem to post it here. But I posted a link to the guy's website just to avoid any issues.

I know I wish Harrison did the rest of the Jack Ryan books, would of been great to see him as President though I did like Air force 1 in all but name he was Jack Ryan LOL

Re: The Film Thread
I still enjoy Red October as well, but that may be because I really love that soundtrack (RIP Basil Poledouris).
Re: The Film Thread

[just saw trailer]
People need to learn some history, or at least watch 'Allo 'Allo, its a lot cheaper than this melange of pregnant-fish-ery.

Regarding the Jack Ryan movie series, there is one due, about how he "had his accident" which was mentioned in Red October. Chris "Captain Kirk" Pine is rumoured to play Ryan.

Re: The Film Thread
This is more of a short film than a music video. It's that good.

Re: The Film Thread
Not quite a film, but I've finished watching Bron|Broen (The Bridge) which is a Danish/Swedish series that's been on BBC4 as of late.
Brilliant series. I've found Forbrydelsen (The Killing) online, I've heard it is very good too. So good that it had it's own American remake.
Why do American networks have to always make adaptions though? That really annoys me.

Re: The Film Thread
Cuz comapnies in America aren't creative enough, so they have to take an existing series and screw it up. I don't watch normal TV anymore. Streaming Anime online for me. Storylines are much better, and character developments are good too.

Re: The Film Thread
Here's a fine example of American debauchery.
Here's the UK version first of all. Classic Chris Moris, great characters, brilliant stuff. A good pilot. Compare the first five minutes or so with it's American adaption.
US version

Re: The Film Thread
Oh, there are some great shows coming out of America Travis, and they all end up here. They don't make UK versions of US shows.
It's just that some of the best shows we have to offer are never given a chance in the form that made them so good.
Life on Mars was a fantastic series here in the UK, and from what I've seen of the American version, it just ruins the whole thing. The whole Manchester in the 1970's setting was part of what made that programme so good!

Re: The Film Thread
I can only think of one UK version of an American show, and it was the UK version of "Mad About You" which didnt need remaking anyways, and was kinda rubbish in its UK guise with John-Gordon "Gregory" Sinclair in the Burke from Aliens role.
