Think of the following words as a voice over, preferrably spoken by Paul Page

"The Indianapolis Motor Speedway, home of the Indy 500, the greatest spectacle in racing, and a long running yearly tradition since the birth of the automobile...

...for 100 years the greatest drivers, the fastest machinery have etched their names into the history books, their faces onto the Borg-Warnter trophy, but for 2012 that will all change...

...the Prototype Sportscar will take to Oval Racing's mount everest, their challenge is simple, win...

...[content removed], Audi and BMW's finest from the world of endurance racing, reborn and rebuilt for the theatre of Speed, and Cadillac, these the four muskateers of horse power, will answer the call of the Indy Prototype Series."

More info soon...

Indy Pro Series - General Discussion ModifiedBMWLMP

Testing has been Rigorous for the Munich based BMW Racing group, developing an "evolution" of the 1999 BMW V12 LMP, all new chassis, all new v12 engine, but the G Forces around Sedona have caused some interesting bodywork malformations.

What Actually Happened...

Racing the clockwise way around Sedona, Connor crashes out of the reverse turn 1 and is unable to right himself as the car remains sidways on the inside apron. RollinInAn STi decides to bite the bullet and Kamikaze his car into Conner's, in turn slamming it into my BMW.

Paul Page in one of the studios above the Indy Speedway.

"In the past 20 years the Speedway here has been welcoming varying forms of racing machinery, traditionally the Indy 500 was the only event that would take to the brickard, a fleet of 33 open wheel chassis and engine combinations designed to give one man the ability to be the fastest man on earth for the month of may, things may have been politically and financially altered over the last decade, but the exterior remains the same

The good ol' boys of NASCAR faught wheel to wheel for the first time in 1994, the encasing bodyshell of the american stock car, v8 engines, 800hp.

Formula One, the formula to bring the world drivers championship to those quick and clever enough, came back to the States in 2000, albeit using a quarter of the speedway, and the bizzarre experience for the racefans of Indiana to turn their heads in the opposite direction that they would normally do on Memorial Day Weekend.

Moto GP, the World Motorcycle Championship has also taken to part of the Formula One course, only to do things their own way.

The Brickyard will be hosting something different, but not entirely new, Prototype Sportscars, usually seen hurtling down french roads of a sunny june weekend, pushing the technologies of the automobile to their very limits, for twenty four hours straight.

Many of Indycars alumni have got behind the wheel of these cars, Mario Andretti, Roberto Gurrero, Eddie Cheever, Mark Blundell, Geoff Brabham, but things have changed since the last time an Indycar driver, Davy Jones, won at Le Mans in 1996.

The 4 Manufacturers that have been allowed to participate in the proposed Indy Prototype Series have been given a freedom of presenting their representation of the answer to the question "How do you go fast around Indianapolis" Over To Jack Arute in Gasoline alley to present the cavalcade of carbon fibre..."

Jack Arute, Kitted out in the (insert American TV Station's) Overalls and headset walks down gasoline alley.

"The American Le Mans Series is a racing championship dedicated to the spirit of Le Mans, each race is a cross between an endurance race and a traffic jam, the fastest class in the series has always been a Le Mans Prototype..."

Firstly Jack walks past [content removed]'s car.

"... here is the car from Audi, multiple champions at Le Mans, also brought their R8 Prototype to America for the Nation's Le Mans Series, not to be confused with the Roofed sportscar which shares the same codename, this R8 is BRAND NEW, rebuilt for the speedway based series..."

Indy Pro Series - General Discussion Bmw-m-garage-271-655x438
"...the 'old-skool' ethic has been applied at fellow German company BMW, their v12 engined LMP won Le Mans in 1999 and also took part in the first ever American Le Mans Series in the same year, once again, all new chassis, all new v12 engine, possibly the best sounding car of the Indy Pro Series, but wait! theres one more manufacturer..."

Indy Pro Series - General Discussion Cadillac-lmp
"...what would an American Series be without something from General Motors, Cadillac have resurrected their Northstar 2002 LMP, unfortunately their efforts around Le Mans were outclassed by Audi who to this day still have a stranglehold on the Grand Prix of Endurance. Four Manufacturers, three venues, Indy, Sedona in Arizona and Motegi in Japan, and with rumours of Ford and Ferrari expressing a future interest in this series, things are looking pretty good for two thousand and twelve, Paul...."

"Testing will be getting under way with these cars as they hone and refine their cars, more from Jack in the pits later, we'll be speaking to several of the team owners, more from the Indy Pro Series test day, right after this..."

Indy Pro Series - General Discussion Ips1

Last nights test showed how fast these cars can REALLY go, we began this project running at average speeds of 200mph, Chad Wilson's work has got three of the four manufacturers cars up to 220mph, and despite the limited amount of entries, three of the test races ended with ridiculously close finishes.
