hey richy, you might want to put your xbox on it's side instead of vertical. i've heard of people having problems with running it like that and scratching disks and what not.

mine is pretty compact. cannot afford the wheel, so will upload pic when i get home from work. Im using my pc-monitor and speakers, seeing my tv is a standard-def, and the monitor is capable of 1080i. why would i not use it?!

yeah i was kinda worried about that at first, but my xbox has been sitting in that position for about 3 years now so it seem cool

yeah, it def. makes sense though for cooling purposes.

what i did for my xbox was get 4 fairly large sockets from my socket set that i hardly use (mostly just 10mm anyway, i drive a honda...) and put those under the 4 little rubber parts.



looks kinda precarious, but it's actually really solid.

Mine does too but having said that many are the tales of my unique cooling methods for my 360!!

Have a 32" Sammy squeezed into the matchbox I call my room!

my roomate keeps his on a milkcrate.

ever since ive been using mine vertically it has never broken down. im over one year w/o a breakdown now

Well, I am on my 3rd xbox now and lost one due to it overheating, the other one died with a red ring...

im technically on my 3rd. (first RRoD due to HDD read error), 2nd i was able to recover from my apartment when the apartment building caught fire. i cleaned it off, and it fired right up (just a lot of soot), so i gave it to my sisters. 3rd one (Elite) has been running like a champ (not a Jaspar series).

the 2nd one, i had bought a 120GB hdd a month b4 the apartment building caught fire. i made it a point to grab the system, as it had all my saved data from fm2, and other games. when i found it fired up w/o problems, i swapped the 120gb hdd that came with the Elite, with the one i recovered!

still on my first, just hit my one month anniversary, no big problems, the system seems pretty unstressed when the majority of the time im playing forza off my HDD.

....and General, you dont use 10mm sockets?! i've only owned japanese cars, and they all use 10mm... (1994 Corolla, 2003 Impreza WRX, and the 2009 STi)

i do use 10mm sockets.

i used ones OTHER than 10mm

that is weird
