Horizon looks quite good and PROVES that T10 can do night racing. If anything I'd like to take some of what we've seen as hints for FM5.

I'm also really hoping we will see a proper separation between the road and track stuff. Maybe losing some of the point to point stuff in favour of more traditional circiuits, picking up proper night racing and a slear definition of the road and track cars.
All these things are possible now and T10 have TWO whole games to explore each genre more completely. Hate to sound all fanboy-ey but I think Gran Turismo just got owned Razz

Hmm.. I still prefer Polyphony's attitude towards future games though, Turn 10 have a completely different style.

For example, Polyphony have been busy laser scanning (or at least inspecting with the intention of laser scanning) Bathurst while Turn 10 have been releasing info about Horizon..

And everything that comes out of Dan Greenwalt's bearded face makes me want to stookie (2nd meaning) him.

Very true - I'm pretty sure the lack of weather and night racing in Forza 4 has always been because the Xbox 360 simply doesn't have enough power to do it and maintain a 60 frames per second frame rate. Forza Horizon's graphics only run at 30fps (physics and controller inputs are still 60fps same as Forza 4), so that extra CPU and GPU power can be used for night time effects, road surface changes etc. With a more powerful box, Forza 5 will surely be able to do 60fps AND night racing AND weather etc. It's the same with F1 2010/11 and Shift 2, both have the advanced night/weather systems, but only running at 30fps.

Also, I'm hoping that the longer term plan is to split the Forza franchise into the two separate games - Forza Horizon for the playground games, drifting, car culture and Forza Motorsport for the simulation and circuit racing. It's similar to what Codemasters are doing with DIRT - taking all the playground parts into a separate game (DIRT Showdown) and focusing on pure rallying for DIRT 4.

Watch Dogs looks incredible as well, Ubisoft has brought out an actual game that they kept hidden and didn't announce before E3. I just hope they don't start making yearly rehashes of it like all game companies seem to be doing now.

With Unreal 4 making its début at E3 in the form of Star Wars: 1313 and Square Enix showing off it's new 'Luminous Engine' Tech Demo we are already seeing the next generation of graphics we can expect in the next few years. Absolutely incredible, I just hope the Square Enix engine can produce gameplay graphics like that.

As much as I wanted forza to be the coolest thing I saw at E3, I can't in honesty say that....ubisoft destroyed all 3 platform creators as far as presentation quality, and watch dogs has me chomping at the bit to get my hands on it....I'll reserve judgement on forza until I play it, because initial impression is that the physics don't look as smooth/realistic. The cars seemed to twitch and recover too easily...but again...not judging until I play it, I just really hope forza physics stay intact, and they just put more story in it for this branch of the franchise

From the 8-minute Youtube video I saw on it yesterday, I think that the physics look about right for all the assists he was using and the lack of speed. If you noticed, the bottom right of the screen was lighting up at every input of the steering. I'm sure that on Sim steering with the NFS-emulating assists off, it'll play like FM4 did. At least, that's what every article I've read has affirmed.

Sure hope you're right...because let's face it, we'd all go crazy over a game that has a very in depth simulation style gameplay to it like forza does, but with all of the fun, and pseudo-story that a game like NFS provides as a nice change of pace from traditional forza, without veering too far away from that which makes forza awesome.

Even then, I could probably go back to Ye Olde Hot Pursuit 2 on the Ps2 (before they got "creative" and "modern") and be perfectly happy with it. Not FM4 happy, but happy. The driving and locations in that game made it for me. If they do that kind of locations and openness in this game, I'll have fun. not to mention that I wouldn't put it past a Forza game to have Bathurst, Nurburgring, Fujimi Kaido, and Le Sarthe built into the map as semi Easter Eggs.

Just noticed some bad texture-popping in the backgrounds on FH. Also by the looks of things they have 'fixed' clouds in the skybox that don't move :s Well, from what I saw anyway....

And just look at the speedo Razz Look at the way it moves and blurs... Very Happy
