Your Gamertag Story
So for anyone who had noticed it before, sometimes John and some of the other fm.nte staff gift unicorns for explaining the origin of your Gamertag, unfortunately I can't do that. However I'm still curious to see how people came to have the gamertags they have today.
I'll start. Mines simple, the GRT in GRT 458Italia stands for Gecko Racing Team. The 458Italia, is self explanatory. The 458 is my favourite Ferrari if not favourite car ever made. On fm3 I owned 6 painted all different colours and here I have 13, again, all painted differently and with different designs and upgrades/uses.
So, what's the story behind your gamertags?

Re: Your Gamertag Story
My GT is very special to me so grab a chair and the popcorn and I'll begin.
In 1971 there was a film released called play misty for me directed and stared Clint Eastwood , I saw the film a few years later . One seen in the film shows a helicopter flying down the Pacific coast highway California .
So the seed was planted ! So while looking for references to the film I found Peggy Sues diner on route 66 And to cut a long story short in September this year a plan I have been working on for 30 years came to fruition and I drove the Pacific Coast Highway and had my dinner in Peggy Sues on the historical Route 66 .
Now planing to drive from Chicago to Santa Monica on the route 66 some 2.448 miles so lots of planning to do !

Re: Your Gamertag Story
My Gamertag I use now was originally a Secondary account I created. Had already reached the max achievement score on TDU:1, and wanted to start from scratch w/o deleting saved game info. This Gamertag started out as rollin in a WRX, and that's where I met a bunch of guys from TDU:Central whom I've spend hours Crusing the island of Oahu with. When word came out that FM2 was coming out and info was being leaked on ForzaCentral, where some of the TDU:C guys frequent, I had been convinced to pick up FM2. Early on in FM2, joined a small tuner team or two. First being Team CD, changed Gamertag to CD 03WRXOwner, and then moved to DMR, which was where I later joined TORA, and some members here may still remember my gamertag at that time. DMR SWITCH. In 2009, when I bought my 09 STi, after I decided to leave DMR after no longer doing anything with the group, I had changed my gamertag to what it is today in an attempt to relive the original Gamertag I created.
But now, this Gamertag has become my primary one, and the original one is barely ever used anymore. :Pp

Re: Your Gamertag Story
Bruno is an old one room school house located a couple of miles away from the farm I grew up on. My grandfather and father both went to school there before it was closed down in the 1950's. The building is now used as a Community Centre to host parties and gatherings for people in the area. I now live about 50 miles away from Bruno, but, I am still one of the more active members in the community.
So, when I was trying to come up with a gamertag I self proclaimed myself the Duke of Bruno in an attempt to find something "classy" without using any extra "x's", nonsensical numbers, or "1337".

But 1337 is the best number
I wanted Stan da man, or Standaman, but both were taken. Hey ho, add some numbers and you can get what you want; Standaman94... Kinda wish I chose Standaman1337 now
From what I've heard, a lot of people mistake it for "Stand a Man", one person insisted they call me "St Anderman", but most people seem to shorten it to "Sandman" for some odd reason.

Re: Your Gamertag Story
Had trouble with my old Account. I think I don't need to to explain "F4H Senna".
F4H Bullet happened after I joined a club called AAR and Bulletdodger didn't fit with the 3 leters in front, so I had to shorten it to Bullet. Then I joined F4H and the rest is history, until my account had trouble.
BAsically got Bullet/Bulletdodger from the movie Snatch, from the Character Boris the Blade/ Boris the Bulletdodger. One of the funniest movies I've ever seen and thats where it originated from. My teammates still call me Bullet, and I even still do when annoucning my pit entrys.

Well, seeing as my surname is Haines, everyone has been calling me Hainesy since I was a little nipper. Weirdly enough my other nickname when I was at school was Beanz due to "Haines Baked Beanz", so you could of had two BG Beanz's, and I think one is plenty bad enough.

Re: Your Gamertag Story
My tag comes from early on in my real world racing career when going back to work after winning the B Main, transferring to the back of the A and winning it too. The guy whose car I was painting that day says to his crew "Ladies and gentlemen, in the 24 car, two time winner... Flyin Mikey J". And it stuck.

Re: Your Gamertag Story
This is gonna be a story lol
So it all started when I first got my 360. I chose my GT to Cowboy6388, Cowboy because of my nickname from HS football when I was dubbed that from my peers for being late to multiple summer practices after working with cattle at my families stockyard(livestock auction facility). Some time later a good friend to me would come over and we would play Halo 2 online. Eventually he wanted his own and I wanted a new account to start over. Thus Outlaw6388 was created.
I decided on outlaw to go with our Halo team, but it would later fit when I started racing on Forza 2. When I would race online it be clean but hard, even returning favors to those the bumped me. I gradually got good at the "bump and run" style and instilled to that my style now, being your holding me up or I know I'm faster and some times for the win. My racing got noticed by a growing team called Impact Motorsports Racing. When asked to join I then created IMSR Outlaw. However, this was not ment to be when less than a year later I raised my right hand to the US Navy.
A year later, after my initial training and deployment, I returned to XBL only to find out IMSR had been disbanded. So with forza 3 out I decided to start fresh and start my own team. Once recruiting a few drivers and instilling my vision to them of what I wanted, we became West Coast Motorsports(WCM). So naturally my GT became what it is today. But once again my military duty took precedence and I left on a lengthy deployment. Almost a year later I returned to only find out once again the team fell apart due to a lack of leadership. Most of the guys stayed together but created CRC or Clean Racers Club, the club I'm with now. They wanted to join them and I did but never changed my GT because I still feel that WCM, tho not lengthy in life was my first successful team before someone else ruined it my absence. But it's time for a change and efforts have been made to be a part of a new organization, hoping it works out
Thanks for reading

Re: Your Gamertag Story
The things I would never put in my gamertag include "Xx" before & after, as well as Zz on the end. Something pointless & irrelevant, such as 'FuzionZz' or 'Pr3dATOrZz' or anything along those lines. I would not join a club if it required an abbreviation before my gamertag.
A friend of mine has a good story. In our younger days he had 'Bulletpr00f' and then 'i z NiNjAz'. And one day on the bus home, an obese kid a year younger than us said 'Move out of the way Lion Head' (in reference to his longish hair) I found this particularly amusing & in lessons at school, I'd draw a little lion head on his work and he even changed his bus pass photo to a lion head. This kinda stuck at school now, so when he changed his gamertag, he tried multiple different names but all were taken. Eventually he settled on 'Mr Lionz' & now the 'Mr' part has stuck at school as well. His phone even has a big cartoon lion on the back!
He calls me 'Mr Kane' now & has been nagging me to change my tag to that. I'm contemplating doing it!

Re: Your Gamertag Story
mine started with my first hotmail account. I wanted "mopar44@hotmail.com" because I am a huge mopar fan and my favourite number is 44. However that was taken. So I went with mopar4_4@hotmail.com. I used that for a year and a bit until microsoft and sympatico merged and somehow my account went wonky and I couldn't sign into it. So I needed to make another account. I noticed that one of my friends had her account to ____6t9 which I thought was clever so, I made my account mopar4t4@hotmail.com.
When I finally got xbox 360 and went online (something I never did on OXB) I just transfered my name to that so I didn;t have to remember multiple usernames. Thus mopar4t4 was born.

Re: Your Gamertag Story
Ok so here's mine. On the original xbox (PGR days) I had Ronnie Kray as that was my nickname when I was younger. Then I got into a relationship and left xbox alone, a few years later and a couple of kids later I got the 360 and never thought bout bringing my old gamer tag over so I made a new one I asked the mrs what she thought and cos at the time kids tv is always on and I had spiky hair like Chucky out of Rugrats, but then you had to have numbers in your tag so I choose 1982 as I was born in 1982 to make Chucky1982. Then recently joined up to British Gamers and went to BG Chucky 82. Simples

Re: Your Gamertag Story
i should really do my original one:
so back in the day of FM3, well half way through, i finally bought a 360. and after a bit, i joined xbox live.
so i play AFL, A LOT and because my last name is Wingard, i got the nickname Wingyy (yes double y). i also have red hair which were i'm from is called a ranga (from Orangutang) and my favourite number was 03 (now 31, long story).
so when it came to me creating my first gamertag, i came up with W1ingyy03ranga, however i havent used it since June last year

Re: Your Gamertag Story
thought I'd bump this thread, just for fun with the new members,
so i thought I'd do the story behind my new one
(this is copied and pasted from the question mikey asked me [meaning behind my gamertag when i changed it])
reason 1) I am heavily into Greek Mythology
2) Erebus is the Greek God of Darkness (i'm not emo or goth haha, he's just my favourite) granted he's a primordial deity (before the 12 Olympians)
3) I'm writing a book on Erebus and Greek Mythology etc
4) Erebus Motorsport is my favourite team in the Australia GT championship and now the V8SC
for those who don't know how to it's pronounced Eh-reh(or rah)-bus (Ἔρεβος in Ancient Greek)
and obviously CRA is because i race for CRA

Re: Your Gamertag Story
I have no idea. Can't really remember what drew me towards Bli33ard.
I first started out on PSX Wip3out, and the scoreboards on the game only allowed 4 letters. I didn't want to use CJF (my initials), so I thought of a name, I came up with 'Wiza' - (ie whizzer, quick etc, not going for a whizz). Then when it came to the whole 'MSN Messenger' craze, I needed an e-mail. So I decided on hyperwiza as the username. then I decided to put an element towards it - and made a new e-mail. wizabli33ard@hotmail.com.
Then I got bored again, and made a new one as torn4do@etcetc.com. I liked using numbers for letters so I then decided to go back to bli33ard out of nowhere.
9 years later... still use it.
