Race Driver: GRID 2

According to OXM, Codemasters is "actively working" on GRID 2, and it'll probably be released sometime in 2013.

"Codemasters are indeed working on a follow up to Race Driver: GRID, IncGamers can confirm.

The news came from an interview we conducted recently with Iain Smith, an associate producer at Codemasters who has worked on Dirt 3 and Dirt Showdown.

When asked about how Codemasters split their racing studio into different projects, Smith told us that a team is currently working on an "undisclosed" game.

Smith: "...on the core game side there's the Dirt team and an as yet undisclosed videogame team."

IncGamers: Is that GRID 2?

Smith: [Laughs] No wavering... [Laughs]

IncGamers: I'm hoping it's GRID 2...

Smith: Yeah, it is."

So it's official. I must be one of the only racing fans not to play Grid. Still, it looks pretty good

I've only played grid once but loved it, loved Le mans but didn't do too well and the F3s or whatever it was n how the tyre wall fell apart, so I'm so excited!
However, since V8's 3 came out which for me still stands as one of the best racing games I've played (along with F1 2010/11, Forza 4, GT5 (but that's further back), grid etc)) but its been 7 years since V8s 3 came out on the old Xbox and it's really hard to find these days and I'm really hoping they make a 4 because if they mix V8's 3, F1 2011, Grid and Dirt 3 (all little areas on it) with brand new graphics and physics, that would be the best racing game ever!

As arcadey as Grid was, it was brilliant fun with a wheel and to have some awesome racing.

- Street Racing, Road Racing and Track Racing.
- 1000Hz physics engine (Forza is 360Hz I believe)
- Summer 2013 release

I wish they had stuck to the BTCC from the early TOCA, the V8s from Pro Race Driver 2/3, and left the superhypercars to GT and Forza.

A game which devotes all of its gigs to real world saloon racing on real world circuits could actually pry my attention from FM4.

Oh well, I'll probably just stick with FM4.

So nothing in this game is good other than its looks.

This is playable (and therefore will be played by a number of TORA members/staff) at Eurogamer over the next 4 days....

(as are NFS Most Wanted, F1 2012, F1 Superstars, Forza Horizon, Forza 4 - yay come see us!, GT5 and many cool non-racing games).

Can not wait for this if they keep the same sense of speed and damage modeling that the first one had its gonna be good. Getting tired of all the people say its a crap game just because it doesn't have cockpit view though. The first one was by far the most fun iv ever had in a racing game.
