Re: SimCity 2013
I'm loving it, but depends on how much time you want to spend with it and how big a SimCity fan you are I guess.

Re: SimCity 2013
Just finished playing the morning, might be on for it later. Having issues with my region where people just seem to be running out of money and going homeless...
Re: SimCity 2013
With my first city on this european server, I've remedied that by placing nice parks and stuff. Loads of mansions and high wealth commercial stuff going up..

Re: SimCity 2013
Well, started a new Region as my previous one was stalling a bit.
Decided to plan a bit, so I have started with a heavy industry, low wealth city. Full of pollution, full of health problems but full of profit. I have two fully upgraded Coal and ore mines as well, so it's been generating a lot of cash through Trade and such. Kept services to a minimum and wealth low so that it will continently stay in the lower wealth bracket. Everything was going great, until I started getting Industrial HazMat fires. This takes normal fire-fighters a while to put out. So, I went off to make dinner. I only left the city for about 10 mins running on it's own. I came back and saw a massive green fire covering a few Industrial buildings. Oh dear I though, where are my fire-fighters. Turns out the fire had claimed my Fire Station, Police Station, Clinic and City Hall in one fell swoop.
Fortunately, the city had generated about 2 million Simoleons, so I was quickly able to get the better services, fully upgrade them and they went to work. My next planned city is going to be purely for Education, sow ill be using a bit of cash from the first city to get things going.
I absolutely adore this game, but there is a few things wrong with it. The city sizes are far far too small, and I understand why they are - to encourage region play - but the region play sometimes simply doesn't work right either. I have loads of residents on one city, loads of jobs in another, plenty of transport options between the two, yet the residents simply refuse to leave to get the jobs.
I've been taking more pics, enjoy

Re: SimCity 2013
One issue: When I play the game, my laptop starts going on and off charge, constantly, so it eventually runs out.

Is it called London by any chance?Richy59 wrote:Having issues with my region where people just seem to be running out of money and going homeless...
Re: SimCity 2013
It could be that when playing the game, especially on higher levels of detail that require more system resources and power, that you are sometimes using more power than the AC charging lead can supply so it is also using the battery to meet the power being demanded by the components.

Re: SimCity 2013
It's a reasonably high spec laptop, it runs Simcity on high settings very well, no choppy framerate drops or anything.

Re: SimCity 2013
Well, that's just great. I have my education city going well, high tech industry, loads of university students, recycling, no crime, good health etc etc and then I built a nuclear power plant. Was all good, employees were skilled enough to keep it working safely. I quit the game for a bit, came back in and within seconds I had a tornado. It went straight to the nuclear plant and caused a meltdown. Shut the thing down and demolished it to save the city, but it had a minor radiation leak and has now poised my water supply. Low on cash and health issues are crippling the city now...
I hate not being able to save and reload the game :/

Re: SimCity 2013
Will do, I set up a 16 player lobby yesterday intending to use it for myself but I'll never fill that full area. Nicky is going to come into it if we are online at the same time, I'll send you and invite and you could come into it? We're on Europe West 4. Same goes with Duncan if he is on.
Re: SimCity 2013
Were are on Europe West 2. Lets see what we can do jointly. BG boys are you up for this?
Re: SimCity 2013
I'm about to set up a third city anyway, I need Oil and plastics. After my radiation leak I think I may have to leave my education city for a bit, too many health issues.
