One of the guys CRA Morphader from "craracing" pointed me in this direction. He mentioned that he will be doing the "24hr's of le Mans" here, hence my registering on TORA. I have plans to go to the real race so chances of doing it online are slim.
A little history about sim racing experience: the first sim of any note, I used was “TOCA Race Driver 3” on the PC. I mostly raced the career and a little online. The next was “Colin McRae: Dirt “ Then followed up by F1 2010 both on the PC. I bought “Forza 4” For my son just after it came out and the Xbox for the family. He used it a bit but he had more interest in arcade type racing, I have now taken it over. I got a Microsoft “speed wheel” that is a bit frustrating as it lacks shoulder buttons (it is fine for driving) but is useless with tuning, upgrading and painting. It also lacks a headphone jack, so no chat while driving. I got a Mad Cats wheel at the beginning of the year which has increased my enjoyment until it broke, still waiting on the replacement! I am now back on switching between the controller and the speed wheel! 2 months later and the Mad Cats wheel is still AWOL. I have also got F1 2012 and Dirt 3 but Forza 4 is the best by far. I have progressed through about 38% of the events and have reached the XP of 144 at the moment, trying to get to a point where I am comfortable racing online without spoiling it for all.
I now feel I have got there started racing on Virtual Motorsport. So far competed in 2 of the ALMS series races.
I also dabble in photography, for the past 5-6 years one of my subjects has been the Monaco Grand Prix, some images can be found at my flickr site just look for "ESEA Photo" last years are filed under.
