nothing on eurosport either about it, really do hope it is wrong, but that was a nasty wreck and I would imagine in a GT car at quite high speed

According to what is being said on Ten Tenths, the ACO has officially announced that Allan Simonsen has passed away at the hospital. Sad

I am unsure of how they can do this on a public roadway, but NASCAR/Indy oval "soft walls" would be a great improvement on some sections of LaSarthe.

Having seen them tested time and time again, soft walls are lifesavers.

When I saw the damage to the center section of the car, I knew it was bad, very bad. GT cars don't take that sort of damage very often. Looked like a roll over, but I never heard or saw mention of a flip.

Now that I know the outcome, I am not going to watch the Youtube of the wreck, at least for a while. I have seen too many fatal racing accidents, some in person... and I do not want to see another one in my lifetime.
