What! I gotta raise another SI against you? My guys are now running a book on how many I'm gonna raise each meetSlider S15 wrote:Such a bad meeting for me.
Race 1: Lagged out
Race 2: went from 13th - 8th but managed to hit MVG Skyshadow (AGAIN, IT's nothing personal I swear!)
Race 3: The lag was so bad I couldn't hear the lobby host and all the cars were flying around so I quit to try and save everyone else's race.
REALLY frustrated after all the work I put into the car and hate feeling like I've let down the guys at Nankang UK.
Seriously though, you had so much of a lag issue tonight raising an SI would only be rubbing salt into the wound; we'll forget about that one

Everything I've looked at or experienced tonight was a shambles. I enjoyed trying to race after them incidents but what've heard it was the worst I've seen on the website.CQR CHRiS wrote:It wasnt that bad Haydo, theres been worse races in the past. The lag currently surrounding forza really isnt helping though an moves are being mis-read. Makes me think T10 are slowly moving there current server equipment over to next gen and only keeping a limited amount for 360.TG Haydo wrote:Worst racing I've ever been apart of since I joined TORA. 2 of my races got screwed on the first lap & I can't imagine anything better for Tsukuba.

I think alot needs re watching some brilliant moves were made but people moved in braking zones which created more collisions than normal.

My notes for Cat:
Bad Q from my part, even worse races.
I was expecting more from myself.I was too relaxed and not attaching as I should.
Still is was very fun and I really enjoy this track,so it was a good gaming night for me.
Thanks everyone,see you next rounds.

Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 8 - General Discussion
I personally found that a really hard track to race close on, but really enjoyed my battles with Amarth and Type R
Think maybe some people with slower connection are struggling with 15 player lobbies, which can make it difficult to race closely.

This track actually promotes close racing... but when you have close racing + lag, you have big problems.

What can I say 2nd meeting and the 2nd time I messed up qual doh so I'm happy to take three 3rd places away from lobby B tonight's round. Some sweet driving by some and some are you having a giggle by others.....

Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 8 - General Discussion
I want to apologize again to the drivers in lobby E for my stupid mistake in the second race and especially to those, who’s race I ruined. That was really amateurish and easily the most blatant error in our lobby. Once again, sorry!
But I must also complain about some of the driving standards. In the last heat I started from pole and expectedly I wasn’t able to keep the first position during the race. I have no problem with that. But to be hit from behind in the chicane on the last lap, just so that I would lose traction, to get past is quite poor as well. I lost two placings there.

Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 8 - General Discussion
I see many people complain about others poor driving.I just want to point out that in these rounds many people did stupid moves and many of us lost places. But you can always put an SI and leave it to the officials.
I mean it is a little nerve breaking to read again and again about these things.Me too had a similar problem(I was in 5th position,a guy spin me out,put me out of track, boom, last place) but I did not want to mention it.
It is just that the track leaves no room and some guys are either not carefull enough or too aggressive.
The main thing is for all of us to enjoy the series, from the 1rst lobby down to the last.
(me thinks maybe I am in a good mood today for some reason, even though I had a bad race last night)

Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 8 - General Discussion
I watched the A lobby replays back again last night, and a few controversial incidents aside, there was some really good racing going on. Race 2 there were 5 changes for the lead between 3 drivers in the first 9 laps, for the overall race win
Most of the incidents I've seen and heard about from other lobbies seem to stem from drivers 'crowding', 'impeding' or not allowing room for a car alongside. There were a few occasions where a car behind was crowded off the track, causing contact which could have been avoided. Might be worth re-reading the TORA Sporting Regulations on passing, punting, blocking and right-to-line:

The responsibility for the decision to pass another car, and to do it safely, rests with the overtaking driver. The overtaken driver should be aware that he/she is being passed and must not impede the pass by blocking. A driver who does not watch his/her mirrors or who appears to be blocking another car seeking a pass may be black-flagged and/or penalized. The act of passing is initiated when the trailing car’s (Car A) front bumper overlaps with the lead car’s (Car B) rear bumper. The act of passing is complete when Car A’s rear bumper is ahead of Car B’s front bumper. “NO PASSING” means a pass cannot even be initiated. Any overlap in a NO PASSING area is considered illegal.
Punting
The term “punting” is defined as nose to tail (or side-of-the-nose to side-of-the-tail) contact, where the leading car is significantly knocked off of the racing line. Once the trailing car has its front wheel next to the driver of the other vehicle, it is considered that the trailing car has a right to be there. And, that the leading driver must leave the trailing driver enough “racing room.” In most cases, “racing room” is defined as “at least three quarters of one car width.” If adequate racing room is left for the trailing car, and there is incidental contact made between the cars, the contact will be considered “side-to-side.”
Blocking
A driver may choose to protect his or her line so long as it is not considered blocking. Blocking is defined as two (2) consecutive line changes to “protect his/her line,” and in doing so, impedes the vehicle that is trying to pass with each of the two (2) consecutive movements. Drivers are encouraged to check with the Race Director for a full explanation before the start of the race. If, in the case of side-to-side contact, one of the two cars leaves the racing surface (involuntarily) then it may still be considered “a racing incident.”
Right to the Line
The driver in front has the right to choose any line, so long as not to be considered blocking. The driver attempting to make a pass shall have the right to the line when their front wheel is next to the driver of the other vehicle. Note: This rule may be superseded by class specific rules."

Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 8 - General Discussion
C Lobby was great, I heard a few complaining and no doubt if your stuck in the middle of lots of cars not giving space it could be tough.
For me though the racing was awesome, Respectful and all the guys around me could brake early like you need to do when on someones bumper. It's hard to pass on that track in a professional manner so you need to pressure the cars and try get a mistake or a good run out of the corner. You cant do that if you brake late and smash into someone.
Like I say though. Great, close, fast & fluid racing in our lobby.
Loved it, Perhaps getting my first C lobby TCC win helped a bit too

Well common sense should prevail here... lolTFR Magic wrote:Question - how do the sporting regs work out if it's three abreast?
If your on the outside and theres no room then you have to yield, middle well thats a position I wouldnt wanna be sat in because your always gonna end up worse off. Inside always priority for me if there side by side as there on the apex.

Re: MSA TORA TCC Season 8 - General Discussion
I hate being the car in the middle when it's 3-wide - cos you have a responsibility to not impede the car both to the left and the right, which on a narrow track can be really hard to do, especially if you're going around a corner!
I've found sometimes if you're the car in the middle it's best to yield and fall in behind the car on the outside and try and follow them around the car that was on your inside; i.e. try to reposition your car so you get the best racing line for the next corner and let the other 2 fight it out It's tough though in the heat of battle to always know what the best thing to do is, a lot of it comes from experience.
Good example of this was in TCC Season 6 at Maple Short - I was in the middle in the Kia with CQR CHRiS ironically in the white/blue Seat overtaking on the right and CQR Type R in the grey Honda on the left - from 1m45s in the video:

Perfect example Mark, better to keep it clean then to try risk going three wide and coming out in a lower position than you entered and sometimes gain by doing it.

Maple's abit different to Tsukuba or Cat National though! Good Racing nonetheless!

That was a really laggy lobby too, and it was Maple Short (40 seconds) a lap, so Tsukuba will be a breeze compared to that
