Re: European GT championship. Lap times.
Have you tried swapping the handbrake and clutch?
It's so much easier because you can just push both buttons at the same time with your thumb.

Re: European GT championship. Lap times.
It's easier for Bob Dole to get a 54.7 in the Ferrari than it is for him to get a 55.2 in the Corvette
Re: European GT championship. Lap times.
don't worry stay at that time im running 56.2 probably a 56 flat with more time on trackHCR Mad Dog wrote:Koenigsegg R wrote: Best I did so far is a 56.3xx. Which is bad, since I can do 55's in almost every other car.
I think I might suck at this track, only managed a 56.1 so far and I this is the ferrari's best track
Re: European GT championship. Lap times.
I'm surprised so much people find it easier to have the clutch as the A-button. I still have it as the LB-button. I've tried switching it, just doesn't work for me. Every time I try it I don't press the clutch button or the shift buttons hard enough. Maybe it's because my thumb is oddly shaped or it's just too small.BG Cowboy wrote:Have you tried swapping the handbrake and clutch?

Re: European GT championship. Lap times.
It works well when you have fat fingers because you can cover the buttons easier lol, the other thing I did to learn was create these stick on pads to cover all three buttons so you can press both at once.Koenigsegg R wrote:I'm surprised so much people find it easier to have the clutch as the A-button. Why didn't I think of that?! I've always used auto clutch and have wondered about the benefits of using the manual clutch. I always thought that having it as LB would making braking a logisitical nightmare as far as available fingers go; but I will have to experiment with it being set as A... is it really worth 0.5/lap?

Re: European GT championship. Lap times.
the only problem is that the car can be tail happy underbraking but once you get used to it you can be faster than the lap times you was doing with the use of auto clutch.

It depends on the car. These cars are all sequential or paddle shift so it won't make much difference. In the lower class stuff it's night and day.
Re: European GT championship. Lap times.
I won't be running this week, and I've been told the Corvette is struggling, so I'm not going to bother testing it. I got a 1:55.9 so far in the Z4 though.

Depends on which finger you use. I use my middle fingers for braking and accelerating and my index finger for the clutch.TweekPunx wrote:BG Cowboy wrote:Have you tried swapping the handbrake and clutch?

I had a feeling your middle-finger would be somewhere near the throttle

It's a compliment my friend, meaning you're a decent driver.

Interesting, I hadn't considered that sequential/paddle 'boxes would make minimal difference, makes sense that manual 'boxes would benefit the most from a manual clutch. Will have to experiment

Re: European GT championship. Lap times.
Oh yea its noticable mate, I am the type to let off the Gas as I shift up, in A class spec cars there's a .3 second delay, iv noticed in GT cars its like .1 and LMP there is none.

Back to Nurburgring GP;
1:56.895 clean
I doubt I will be anywhere near that for qualifying though.

Re: European GT championship. Lap times.
No you don't "Have" to, in fact its quicker if you leave the throttle on, I just hate the sound so do it as optional
