Re: 2014 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
I just wonder what will replace monza, it was a pretty good track and it'll take some beating! Possibly Mugello?

I like Bernie reckon hes done great things for F1.
If Monza goes it goes, It'll be interesting to see how these new restarts will work, we may grow to love them.

Grow to love them? Are you high mate!
Bernie does this all the time folks. It's simply a call to Monza to come up with the goods (more money).

Re: 2014 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
Sounds like Bernie is pulling the strings then...
Definitely sounds like its an attempt to get more money out of Monza though, he then goes on to talk about poor Italian TV ratings.
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/114743
But with talks set to begin soon about framing a new deal for when the current contract expires in two years' time, Ecclestone is unsure if a new deal will be done.
When asked by Gazzetta dello Sport about what the future of the Monza race looked like, Ecclestone said: "It's not good. I don't think we'll do another contract, as the old
one has been disastrous for us from a commercial point of view.
"So it's bye-bye after 2016."
Should Monza be unable to put in place a financial package that suits Ecclestone, one alternative that has been suggested is Mugello.
Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo, whose company owns the track, has talked about wanting the Italian GP switched there.
But Ecclestone said there had been no discussions about that.
"No, I haven't received any proposal," he said.

Re: 2014 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
Maybe the TV ratings are low because every Italian is in the stands.

I hope Kimi's ok, that looked bad.
I'm gutted about the red flag, especially after the start both Mclarens had.

I was at the Grand Prix, whilst I know the majority will obviously be Hamilton fans, I found the booing of Nico and a subsequent cheer at his retirement to be in rather bad taste. Same with the booing of Vettel when he got past Alonso.

I dont necessarily agree with the Rosberg booing. Although that said its England vs Germany in F1 form, you can bet if Hamilton retires in Germany Rosbergs fans will cheer.
As for Vettel... or did you mean the whining bummer we heard on the radio on sunday?

They were both at it, I also think the Vettel hate, much like the new found hate for Rosberg, is also pathetic and in bad taste. Respect the drivers for what they accomplish, not for what the media do.

I loved the mutual hatred you could hear in Alonso's and Vettel's voice when they were complaining about each other, I mean, they really do hate each other!

Re: 2014 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
Hats off to Vettel, he is a great driver. But his attitude when things don't go his way mostly ends up with him throwing his toys out of the pram. Everyone else had to put with his dominating car all last year and now that Mercedes have the upper hand, he's jealous and you can tell. Ricciardo has constantly shown Vettel that the car is capable of podiums.
I personally really want Rosberg to win the championship since he's a pretty cool guy and a really good driver. I would prefer to see Ricciardo win the WC but realisticly, I want Rosberg to claim it

I have to agree. Vettel is a talented driver but he has a really bad attitude which is why I don't like him.LMR Zakspeed wrote:Hats off to Vettel, he is a great driver. Re: 2014 FIA Formula 1 World Championship
If Vettel spent less time crying about the car / other drivers he'd probably go even fasterm i can't deny with a quick car under him he is sensational, but this year with Ricciardo alongside in a not brilliant outfit he has been exceptionally ordinary. Any other driver in any other team he'd be at risk.

On this side of the pond,I think that McLaren duel was seen in a different (one may even say " geographically neutral") light. And is most likely the root of my dislike of Hamilton.
That being said, how about today's Q1 session?

I got to watch a little bit of it(Albeit on a Soanish channel in Denny's) but I freaked out when Hamilton crash. I wasn't happy, but more in shock! He just doesn't have any luck, does he?
