Re: USGT Championship - General Discussion
Having read the rolling start rules my understanding is overtaking can occur from when the "green green green" command is given, regardless of proximity to the start line itself.

Re: USGT Championship - General Discussion
Yep my understanding and I hope is that overtaking can happen once green green is called or 3 2 1 go etc as race has began
Re: USGT Championship - General Discussion
^ Yep, rule is in place so people don't jump too early, will be explained in the lobby before the race.

Re: USGT Championship - General Discussion
But don't you think 80mph is too high to have proper side by side rolling start grid on tracks like Suzuka, Road Atlanta, Laguna Seca, Infineon and Motegi? Since all those tracks have a very slow last corner.

Re: USGT Championship - General Discussion
Watch from 03:30, they take it easy and are slow through the last corners and even split off to drive over their grid slots. Possibly the best rolling start procedure I've seen.
Re: USGT Championship - General Discussion
Its 80mph till we start slow down to 60mph for the rolling start, and forming up side by side at a safe point at the end of the lap before the pit entry. once the last car in in formation the lead driver can do the countdown anytime between the pit entry and start line.Koenigsegg R wrote:But don't you think 80mph is too high to have proper side by side rolling start grid on tracks like Suzuka, Road Atlanta, Laguna Seca, Infineon and Motegi? Agree Should be dropped to 60 - 40 while around last corners on slower circuits, Race Director should advise of this depending on circuit
Re: USGT Championship - General Discussion
Richy,
That start was pretty good. I'm thinking we should treat our rolling starts as the same.

Re: USGT Championship - General Discussion
80MPH is the advised maximum for the entire Parade lap, as we wouldn't want people racing away then slamming the brakes on.
A Cruising Speed for the Race-Start will be given on the evening, hope this clears it up.

Dont know why theres such a fuss over it to be honest we have done rolling start alot over the years, the new guys that were racing last night understood it fine from the off.

Re: USGT Championship - General Discussion
Rolling start is simple, roll with the flow of traffic clearly on the left or right side whichever your position determines, on go you need to floor it!
Re: USGT Championship - General Discussion
From the USGT Rulebook:
All cars will be formed up correctly before the final turn, upon exit the host will Call "Last driver: Ready?" Upon reply, the host will repeat for the Pole driver "Pole Driver: Ready?", once confirmed, the host will count down "3-2-1- GO!" in which case all cars may begin, at NO points must a driver exceed the 80MPH limit before this, failure to do so may be counted as a "Jump-Start" and Stewards action taken against them.
Rules allow a starting speed of 80mph maximum. Not a maximum of 60mph. Eventhough the host says 60mph is maximum, if a driver is doing 80mph, he can't be penalised because the USGT Rulebook allows it.

Re: USGT Championship - General Discussion
Hi there. I'm new to TORA and was hoping to enter the USGT Series. I haven't had my race number confirmed yet but can I still submit an entry to the series or do I have to wait to my number is confirmed? Also I will be unable to compete in all the races due to other commitments. Will this be a problem?

Re: USGT Championship - General Discussion
You can still submit an entry even if your number isn't confirmed. You are allowed to edit your entry at any point. Not being able to compete in all of the races is no issue either.connor7195 wrote:Hi there. I'm new to TORA and was hoping to enter the USGT Series.
