Is this in the build you sent me?
That car wasn't even at max P.I?
I have seen a Seat so far doing 17.7s as well. (Not me driving of course)
Re: TCC S9 Laptimes
A Little Comparison. Last year I qualified at a 1:23.824 for the Catalunya National TCC Race in the BMW 135i. This year I am running 1:21.439 testing the Volvo S-60 R Design. I could go faster if the care wouldn't slide its fatarse when I step on the throttle, even if its just a gentle push of the accelerator it slides. Gonna be slowest lobby again at Catalunya. But I did improve by 2.385 Seconds...lol.

No matter what I do to the Golf I can't go faster than 1:20, hopefully other tracks suit the car more

Any improvement is a good improvement, I'm sitting around a 1:19:5 on average in the Insignia, fastest lap in it is a 1:19:2

Would you mind sending me this tune as well? Im stuck at 1:20, but I know that I can break into the 1:19s if the tune is bang on at least.

Re: TCC S9 Laptimes
I'm gonna put this out there guys. Mad Dog can probably hit 18s on a stock tune. Get your car balanced and feeling like its doing what you want it to do and then calm down. Catalunya is about hitting your lines and hitting them consistently. Watch your replays and if your turn in, apex and track outs for each turn look different each time its your driving not your tune. I have finally hit the 18s but have not changed my tune in over a week. The times were in me not the car.
That being said. Here are a few tips from what I have learned over the last year of learning to tune a car well. Some things are real world some are Forza weirdness that make no sense except in the game.
Start stock! (exception being brake pressures)
Get as fast as you possibly can stock first.
Now you will know what you like or don't like about the car.
Eventually you will learn some base lines that work for you on most cars and you can fast forward to those.
I wasted a lot of time pasting other peoples tunes on and driving them but couldn't tune them because I had no idea how they got the car to that point. So if there was something that didn't work for me I had no idea how to fix it.
This usually ends in reverse tuning. "the more I tune the slower I go"
Do some reading and understand how C.C.T works (caster, camber, toe)
The lowest ride height is not always the fastest.
Bump and rebound are directly attached to spring rate and ride height. You can't really change one without the other.
Spring rate baseline is a calculation not a guess. The game gives you all the info you need to baseline.
2600lbs weight dist of 57% would look like this.
2600 x .57 = 1,482
2600 - 1,482 = 1,118
Front is 1,482 lbs
Rear is 1,118 lbs
divide both by 2.
Front spring rate is 741 lbs
Rear spring rate is 559 lbs
I will say that I have found reducing the overall spring rate by 10% usually works a little better in Forza.
Brake bias in Forza is stupid but works well in reverse. If you are getting any unwanted steer input when you get off of the brakes during turn in move the bias more to the back or closer to center to adjust for the steer kick.
Last I think is tune in the cockpit view. Even if you race in another view. In the cockpit you can feel the back end step out or the front end push through a little more clear.
This you will use to set your roll bars to taste.
Now some of the fast guys can tell me I am all wrong on this but I have moved from a back of C lobby guy to a nipping at A lobby guy by just slowing down and following these steps.
Rant over.

Although I will try what jvanessen has said, might be a tad quicker than trial and error.

Re: TCC S9 Laptimes
Trial and error is the only way
but a calculated start point is by far a much nicer place to start with!!
I personally have found a car that behaves in a slower/softer manor is much more predictable and that makes hitting them markers easier.
yes you might get one lap in every 10 thats awsome and half a second faster than the rest but if u go a tenth faster every lap for 10 laps thats a whole second you have gained.
but in all fairness it's seat time and them little driving style touches that make the time up! late on the brake, bang on the apex and early on the throttle!
on average i'll need in excess of 200 laps before i get the times other people can do in 2

It takes me at least 200 laps to get within a couple seconds of what some people can do in two. Hate it when my best lap is comparable to others' out lap in qualifying.

Just scraped a 1:18.7xx in the Audi.
Cannot wait to get Catalunya over with as it's not a particularly strong track for me. God knows how some of you are doing 1:17's
