Hello! Kris here from Motorsport in Pubs (www.motorsportinpubs.co.uk)
Hello, Kris Brown here from Motorsport in Pubs. Have known a bit about TORA through our friends at Downforce Radio but not really been involved even though I do play racing games a lot.
Had a 360 for years with a number of racing games. Was given an Xbox One for my birthday last week and I've bought Forza 5. Still getting my head around it etc but would really be interested in racing in online leagues/champinships etc. It's something I've not done before but sounds pretty cool, so any advice on getting started would be great.
Feel free to add me, my gamer tag is Kristoforbrown or be sure to follow Motorsport in Pubs on Twitter @msportinpubs and talk to me there!
PS. Would love to get our logo designed for the cars if anyone can help?

Welcome to TORA!
"Where to start?" is the most common question I see among those new to online racing, and the correct answer would be "find a series that peaks your interest" as you will find others at your pace in most any series. However, since Spec Cup features very forgiving to drive cars, I'd strongly suggest jumping into the Fiesta Cup.

This is good advice, when I first joined TORA , I was going to jump straight into high speed gt races. I was advised to start in US Touring Masters. Good choice, the slower paced cars let me get my feet wet in real competitive, wheel to wheel racing. The slower cars are more forgiving and if you give someone a love tap, it's move on and finish the race. In GT racing, one little tap can put someone out of the race and that can be frustrating when you aren't used to going through corners two and three cars abreast. Fiesta Cup would be a great intro to TORA!

Re: Hello! Kris here from Motorsport in Pubs (www.motorsportinpubs.co.uk)
Seems people think the Fiesta cup is the best thing for me. Where does one enter that?
Guess I better get a race number too.

Re: Hello! Kris here from Motorsport in Pubs (www.motorsportinpubs.co.uk)
Hi Kris,
The advice given so far is spot on if you are new to the game and to TORA.
I feel I should warn you........ the racing here is hard but with all of the real to life qualifying that happens you will always be racing guys at your skill level.
To increase your skill level you need practice and where applicable a very well tuned car, this sounds simple but races can often be lost by the tune being rushed or borrowed and doesn't suit your racing style.
Many of the guys here can help you to learn tuning or to tune for you, you will notice the difference in a good tune immediately as when you are comfortable in the car you can push it so the lap times and your skill will improve.
This is nothing like the public lobbies but more akin to the higher level PC games championships run online.
Always take the time to take in the rules of racing on Tora and pay special attention to the car choices and build rules, I myself tune every car on the list, tune it, then pick my favourite as they all perform differently and this can change the outcome of a series for you.
A one car championship or Spec Cup is ideal to start with as the cars and the level of tuning is limited.
Best of luck and enjoy the racing.

^^^Fantastic advice from a master racer! All I can add is welcome to TORA and I'll see what I can do about that logo of yours... I'm not too bad with the things. I made myself and my team mate J2O and AMP Energy logo's for the Indycar series.
