Re: Project CARS.
I do think the soundtrack to Shift 2 was slightly better. But overall, I prefer SMS's habit of using music to try portray the emotional journey of racing. It's better than the tripe music in FM5 I've had off since day one.

FM2 music was epic... LCD Soundsystem, Bloc Party, CSS, Gnarls Barkley, and some, er... more "niche" titles....

Did I hear somewhere that they reused some tracks from GTR2? If so I need this game now.

Does anyone know if there is a way to slow down how fast the camera moves when you're using 'free look' - it's a bit erratic for my taste!

Well I came across an AI by the name of Chris Siddall today. The dirty little bleeder showed me where the grave trap was

Haha! I think there's 3 CQR drivers in the game - Chris Siddall (CQR Aero), Martin Johnson (CQR Jono) and Matt Webb (CQR Magictap) - for those that don't know, the names of the AI drivers in the game are those of actual WMD members (those who invested at Team membership level or above if I remember correctly)!
Re: Project CARS.
So as most own this game/sim now apart from the glitches in it what does everyone think...personally I love it so easy to drive and I went for the option of full manual gears and clutch with no aids and engine start..its interesting CUs when you spin or go off theres a possibility you will stall then starting it again is fun lol..i love it and hope I might be really good at this...my response to some of the non lovers is stop thinking its Forza..yes it has a few glitches what new game don't they are fixing it and if you don't report the problems to slightly mad how do you expect em to get fixed..imo

Re: Project CARS.
I agree Jonno. I think however that everyone, including myself, are finally happy we have a sim racer and realise its not Forza but this could have been an amazing off the shelf title given the years of development, the countless prosponed release dates and not to mention all the hype that SlighlyMad put into the title it's let down by the glitches, controller issues and lobby problems.
I've read on the official site that there's ten, yes ten! patches being worked on for the XBox version alone to address random lobby kick outs, the controller lock opposite direction glitch and a host of other issues. I read one persons reply on the forum for PC's stating 'you all cried for a sim, you get one and now complain when the cars handle like the real world equivalent' to that I got to say I've never been in any car on track and turned left into a bend only for the car to steer right into a wall and vice versa!
I just feel that given how long PC's has been in development that these patches should never have been needed as this sim should have been near to perfect on release. Hopefully the list of future patches will correct these issues but until then I personally won't plan or take part in any race series based on ProjectCARS.

Re: Project CARS.
I get tired of reading the countless posts of people screeching, "Did you even QA this game? What about x/y/z?". Why?
It's not like these things were left broken or glitchy on purpose. No one sets out to sell a broken game. Developers try and account for every single problem that can arise, but when a game is released to the public, many things can go awry that are either unanticipated or never before seen.
Every year, the 24 Hours of Le Mans is run in hopes that each car can make it the distance without mechanical failure. And yet, many of the top funded teams have major mechanical issues each year. Why? You can plan and plan all you want, but until you're doing the real thing (or in a games case, once it's released to the public), you can't replicate every single factor.
Give SMS time, they've got a great game with a passionate, supportive fan base. It has a few issues, yes, but it's not for a lack of trying.

Re: Project CARS.
I worked in QAQC. I've worked for a bunch of major titles. There will be bugs. It is impossible to create a game without them. The infrastructure is there (it wasn't in Forza), the options are there (didn't see it in Forza either) and we have ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL the features we all wanted. Why we moaning over glitches? They can be fixed and will be fixed. I find the fact that people are giving out about bugs a little petty (i'm being generic - other forums and such).
For so long we had a below average game in FM5 and now we have a potential monster with some glitches. It's an easy choice for me.
As for a sim...I want it to be difficult. Sims are not easy. Spend the time to get used to the game. This should not be a pick and play. You can't get onto Le Mans at night and in the rain and expect to be sea biscuit around the track. Once again I'm being generic. This is not really directed at anyone here.
I'll be on the xbox at 00:01am tonight!

Re: Project CARS.
It say's it all though the bugs currently affecting it are tiny in relation to what FM5 launched with an i'm not seeing many complaints about content.
Re: Project CARS.
I'm having a laugh here. I found another meaning for CARS.
Project Can't Afford Real Sponsors.
So many rip-offs it's comical but the game itself is so gooooood!

jonnotheone wrote:A patch I on its way http://www.gamepur.com/news/18813-project-cars-patch-will-improve-performance-xbox-one-4-7-dev-explains-no.html
The info in this link says:
Xbox Community are not at all happy with the fact that Project Cars Xbox One version lack decent amount of multiplayer options and no way to join lobbies. Xbox One players are forced to join random races with random folks. You can check out many complaints of Xbox One owners on Project Cars forums.
Surprisingly, these issues in Project Cars Xbox One version has nothing to do with Slightly Mad Studios but instead it's a fault with Microsoft. According to the details shared by Slightly Mad Studios Dev (via game's official forum), due to "first party reasons we can’t offer a lobby browser on XB1″, going to on assure players that the team “are looking into ways to improve the XB1 matchmaking."
This is really a tricky situation for Xbox One players as developers are not sharing the exact reason why Project Cars lack "multiplayer lobbies" option, however one thing is pretty sure, if fans want to know the reason they should direct their questions towards Microsoft.
Eh?? If that is true how we going to get a lobby full of people doing a GT race? I'm confused.com
Re: Project CARS.
Typical journalistic rubbish, you can join lobbies just fine - go to your friends list/party and select Join Game

Re: Project CARS.
I struggle to counter steer. I don't know if it's controller related, car setup or, most likely, my lack of talent. This is in Formula C, but once I've turned into a corner it seems to go full lock & I can't quite fine tune the steering to how I want. Counter-steering seems very heavy too, if I do mange to counter steer it gets stuck there for a split second or so which is enough to spit me off wide.
I love the actual driving. I'm re-doing the practices in career mode just to get the laps in. That one lap I do manage to nail is such a buzz.
How many hours has everyone got? I'm on 7.88 hours (7.08 career, 0.80 solo)

Now they have so much attention, top selling game and all that, maybe some will come to them instead of the other way around.
