Did you save the setup changes?AnonCaliga wrote:Has anyone noticed when in career mode and sitting in the garage that when you go into car setup, alter a setting or more, do a lap, return to garage, go back into car setup to make further alterations that the game isn't saving the previous alterations made to the car setup just a lap prior?
It just gets worse!!!

Yes! I even went through it a few times to make sure I was doing it right.
Re: Project CARS.
Until the XB1 patch is out, this game is remaining on the shelf and has been there since a few hours after I got it. Such a shame, so much potential but so far just so much crap to deal with. Looks like the only that version that works properly (?) is the PC one but I doubt very much that TORA are going to do a PC version of the GT Championship.

Re: Project CARS.
So I'm holding off on this game until my birthday, and hoping to see what the initial reaction is of it.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it appears the community consensus is one of the following:
-"It's a great game! Everything about it is fabulous, and any little glitch isn't too gamebreaking."
-"It's close to a great game, but there's a lot wrong with it. Give it a few, and it'll be fixed!"
-"It's alright, but there's so much wrong with it I can't touch it. Hopefully a patch will help..."
-"What the hell were they thinking? This game's supposed to be good? Waste of my time and money!"
Any way you slice it, it's amazing that with all the pre-release hype, no one bothered to test a consumer copy of the game. And if they did, it's funny that no one found any glitches that people are finding in the first 10 hours of gameplay.

Re: Project CARS.
I haven't had a ton of time on it yet, but I would lean toward #2. Like NFS:Shift2, it does feel like there's a good game in here trying to get out. They couldn't fix Shift2 after release, coincidentally with the same fatal flaws, but they might with Pcars.
Someone said during our FM5 race last night they had more fun in the last 5 laps than they did in the last 5 days with Pcars. That pretty well sums it up right now.

Re: Project CARS.
To be honest my experience with project cars has been incredibly positive. I had expected coming in that pcars would handle differntly to Forza 5 so I wasn't surprised there. Also operating under the knowledge that pcars has highly adjustable controls and that this was meant to be a racing sim I knew that I would need to spend time tweaking things to my liking.
I will admit that I haven't really been subject to too many bugs. Nothing game breaking anyway.
The Full lock counter steer bug is there and is really easy to replicate but I found it easy to avoid. In a way it has made me better and faster because it was forced me to be much more smooth with my stick inputs. But it is an issue
I would recommend driving the Formula Gulf, GT3s, GT4s, and the Group A tourers.
I feel like once the controller issues are patched the game will become a lot better for all. Not that it matters for me any more because my wheel came on monday.
In contrast to Dom's comment, myself and the regular guys from my league have said that we haven't had this much fun in Forza in a long time. We seem to by a lucky 1% it seems
Also I HIGHLY recommend playing pcars with a wheel

Re: Project CARS.
Well the fact still remains that there is a problem and bug so hats off to you - racing with a buggy controller and input system. It's all going to change and I can't wait for the patch.
I want a wheel for Xbox as well. May start pricing them

Re: Project CARS.
It's all relative. Playing a mediocre or even a bad game with friends can easily be more fun than playing a good game by yourself!
In the mere two hours or so I got with the game yesterday, I found far more to like than not. Was I frustrated a bit at times? Of course, but no more so than I was the first time I played Forza 2! I don't see any of the "flaws" as being "fatal". I see a potentially brilliant game that needs some polishing and tweaking. The controller update is already on the way, which I think will help tremendously. Too much time and effort has been put into this by the developers. I don't think they are about to let it fail at this point. They will do whatever they have to to make this game a success!
It is also a huge benefit that we have the feedback from the community here from those who got it last week! I (we) knew exactly what to expect when we put it in yesterday. I had no illusions of immediately "conquering" the game. I knew right off I had to work on the settings and test things out to even begin to play it. This is a complex game with much to learn. It will take a commitment of time to get the most out of it. For me anyway, this game looks to be worth that commitment.

Re: Project CARS.
Well if the patch improves stability (framerate) and they'll fix the counter steer bug. If then it plays nicely I'm seriously considering buying a wheel for it.
To bad I want to buy a wheel that works on Xbone and PC. And the most affordable is the Thrustmaster Ferrari Wheel but I don't like the look of the Ferrari wheel. So Fanatec is then the only other option. And those are expensive much.

Re: Project CARS.
SMS have found 6-9% performance improvement on XB1 compared to the current release, a lot of the frame rate and audio issues are due to a bug with the rumble feedback that will be fixed in the next patch.
As for a wheel, have a look at the Thrustmaster TX - it's PC and Xbox One compatible and many of our members say it's the best wheel (Xbox or PC) they've used, works great for Forza, iRacing, Project CARS (PC and Xbox) - in fact many of them are in top 10 on the Clio Challenge at Brands Indy on both PC and Xbox using that wheel
(more feedback from Thrustmaster TX owners here: http://cqrclub.co.uk/forum/page/1/m/5201082/viewthread/9826777-thrustmaster-tx-racing-wheel-discussion )

Re: Project CARS.
I've a G27 for iRacing at the moment. I am contemplating getting cross platform or another wheel, a fanatec most likely

Re: Project CARS.
Have to admit I would recommend the TX wheel too. I've tried it out at a mates and it's really very good. The F1 rim is bloody awesome too!
I'll be picking one up later this year

Re: Project CARS.
Probably also helps that you can buy the standard 458 set with pedals, the F1 rim, better pedals and maybe even a portion of a playseat for less than the new CSR base and ONE rim
Re: Project CARS.
Have to say fanatec are not as great as they make out to be. My CSR broke within a year replacement has the same issues but just driving around them now until I get on Cars on PC, When my G27 comes out.

Re: Project CARS.
The TX looks good, probably the best wheel designated for Xbox One at the moment. There is a Hub that you can purchase if you have a Fanatec Clubsport Base but it's €350 (I think maybe £280?) along with the base itself. Very pricey but quality is unbelievable and FFB is great. Though, I only use mine on PC.
Re: Project CARS.
Running the TX but haven't tried it on the One yet, it's my wheel of choice for iRacing
