Re: Project CARS.
I'm struggling to learn with the controller. And the bugs aren't helping.
It's like driving iRacing with a controller, it's tough. But once I figure the setting, should be much better.
As for racing with my wheel, so natural..

Discovered I was missing a controller update.... after the update I haven't encountered the steering lock again. I can actually make a few laps without hitting a wall!

Freheliaz wrote:Well if the patch improves stability (framerate) and they'll fix the counter steer bug. If then it plays nicely I'm seriously considering buying a wheel for it.
To bad I want to buy a wheel that works on Xbone and PC. And the most affordable is the Thrustmaster Ferrari Wheel but I don't like the look of the Ferrari wheel. So Fanatec is then the only other option. And those are expensive much.
There is a Ferrari F1 rim, Ferrari GTE rim or a Thrustmaster GTE rim thats compatible with the tx. The base rim is rubbish and I cant stand it. I use the Ferrari GTE rim and its great, feels awesome and is nice and solid, there is a lack of buttons though. And a TX with a rim would be substantially cheaper than a fanatec rig, Works out much cheaper than a fanatec rig, and the xbox one rims are delayed until august

Re: Project CARS.
The limited edition car pack for those that didn't get the limited edition or digital version of the game is available for $2.99 or £1.90 (I think). Seeing as it contains 5 cars and 6 cars are listed as "coming soon" in the car list I can assume that 1 will be free with the others being $3 again for 5 cars, that's very reasonable.

Re: Project CARS.
It's even better than that... due to the delays SMS said they're gonna give away a free DLC car every month, so those 6 'coming soon' cars could well be free

Re: Project CARS.
Any idea of when the patch will be delivered?
Also, about the Thrustmaster...what pedals can be used with it and how did people find the F1 wheel attachment?

Re: Project CARS.
I've tested the F1 rim at a friends house and really liked it!
Have a gander here http://www.thrustmaster.com/products/categories/racing-wheels-0
I'll be getting the T3PA Pro pedals right away.

Re: Project CARS.
Think the patch is already live on PC (v1.3), so just waiting for it to be certified by Microsoft which is gonna take a few days at least.
The standard TX pedals aren't the best, but the wheel is compatible with all of Thrustmasters accessories range (rims, pedals, shifters etc), so you can add the T3PA or T3PA Pro pedals (http://www.thrustmaster.com/products/t3pa-add). If you've got an old set of Fanatec pedals lying around you can buy an adapter called a 'Basher board' to fit those to the TX - CQR Basher does this with his TX and loves it - very jealous of his setup:

Re: Project CARS.
Thanks guys. I have an Obutto rig at the moment with the G27 hooked up. I'll likely hold onto that wheel till the end of time. It is so good but for Xbox One and being in cockpit view, I just can't imagine using the controller. I'd rather learn PCars on a wheel.
I'm gonna do some procurement for sure

Re: Project CARS.
How does it work with a headset and the Thrustmaster TX wheel?
Because I found out that the MadCatz wheel doesn't support a headset. So I'd still have to have my controller on and my headset plugged in the controller.
I'm using a Turtle Beach XO Four headset.

Re: Project CARS.
I am thinking about the club sport pedals, the F1 Wheel and the Thrustmaster wheel base. It is quite pricey on their site. Which wheel base for Thrustmaster is good or are they all the same? (Ferrari, GTe or whatever)

Re: Project CARS.
Only the TX model is Xbox One compatible. No Xbox One wheels have headset sockets (must be a Microsoft requirement, I think they had a grand vision that everyone would be chatting via their Kinects ) so you need to have a headset plugged into a controller too
Re: Project CARS.
Thanks again. I may pry a little more. I am thinking of making this set of purchases very soon. I'm excited to start using a wheel for Pcars because the other alternative was buying the PC version and using the G27 which is cheaper but I want to be able to do the events at TORA and TURN but I don't think either site will have the numbers to carry a PC set of events

Re: Project CARS.
Main reason for me to buy a wheel that also works on the PC is that I want to use it with different games like Dirt Rally.
Thanks Magic for the answer. So it seems all Xbox One wheels need the controller active to use a headset. (which is really lame)

Re: Project CARS.
I'm not much of a wheel expert myself but if you have an questions, pop on the forum or send a XBL message to CQR Jono, CQR Basher, CQR Cobblepop, CQR Rich, CQR Deuce or CQR Aero - they're all using TX on Xbox (and PC). Rich has a fancy headset too that plugs into the audio output on the Xbox so he doesn't need to plug it into a controller, but I can't remember what it's called
Re: Project CARS.
The controller issues are rather limiting my enjoyment somewhat. When I turn in it either turn too much or doesn't turn enough, it's difficult to fine tune. I've tried several different controller settings.
The effect of that is driving without confidence & feeling I can't really attack the track fully. I'm always driving as if I'm anticipating a steering malfunction at some point.
