Post by SorrySmithy Wed 27 May 2015 - 20:02

Anyone else noticed a new bug today on Project Cars.
I do a lap time and on my following laps I will be doing the same splits and then loose 3-5 seconds on 1 corner even though I take it as I would on the previous laps. I have noticed this happen on Hockenheim GP and Dubai GP so far.

It may in fact be that on my flying lap the timing system f**ks up and gives me a load of time to make my lap faster than it should be. This would explain it better as I am doing the same times as drivers in the same lobby and leaderboard times. Then all of a sudden I so a lap that is 3-7 seconds faster than them. (I think this is the problem as looking at the leaderboards the times I have done in multiplayer have been 5 seconds quicker than any other GT3 around Dubai and 3 seconds quicker than the next GT3 around Hockenheim)

I don't know whether this is a specific problem that I am having or whether it is a wide spread problem.

Weirdest thing last weekend - I joined a GT3 lobby on Hockenheim. Went out on track and ran a 1:39 on my first flyer.... Seems legit.. Next lap is a 1:18.... Everytime I went through a sector, the clock would skip back 10 seconds! This game knows how to keep it fresh Razz Razz Razz

Agreed!! The patch made a world of difference. I still have a bit of fine tuning to do, but overall it's much better than before. I can actually drive now!

A few things still bothering me though;

Doesn't keep my seat settings in cockpit view, have to adjust them every time out
Changes tires on pit stops even when I select no change
Every single time I'm told to pit it says the pit box is occupied, WTF!!! LOL
Have to make sure I have the correct pit strategy selected every time, should default to my last save I would think

Lastly, a quick question, are the preset tunes for each track automatically on the car when you get to the track in career mode? The tune always looks the same to me no matter what.

Assistance please:

I'm trying a bunch of settings and hopefully someone with my style can help.

I am a tapper. Going down the straight I make rapid and quick taps of the car to straighten it out. This helps me use all the track.

Once in a corner and with full lock I want response and not delay.

Any advice? I don't know the difference between some of the steering settings and I find the 0% and 100% counter-intuitive. I mean is 100% full range and 0% minimum range? That makes sense to me but it doesn't seem to be the case.

http://forum.projectcarsgame.com/showthread.php?28307-Controller-settings-after-patch-Easy-set-and-play-Please-read

these seemed to help. i used these settings in post #1 and #34 in this thread

i was able to shave 3 seconds off my GT4 time immediately and the LMP cars feel brilliant now.

I also turned off a bunch of the add on's in the visual menu and the frame rate has improved dramatically without sacrificing much of the look of the game.

I really wanted to like this game, but so far I have to say I'm not thrilled with it. I like the game set up as a whole, the race weekends and such, and the graphics are beautiful. The physics as far as I can tell are pretty damn good as well.

Unfortunately, the controller is just horrendous. I simply can't find a set up I'm comfortable with. The cars are either too twitchy or respond way too slow. I can't find a happy medium.

There are also some bugs that still annoy me. I have to pick my pit strategy every time? And then when I get to the pit it's the wrong one?

The forums have been almost useless. Fortunately some regular players have posted some useful info. A word to some of the WMD members. Most of your answers to questions SUCK! Makes me want to tell you where to stick this game!! We pay 60$ for this game and you give us some snotty ass remarks? If you want people to play this game you should do more to help us out.

Good god this game is frustrating to play, but it feels much more realistic and the day/night driving, weather and other funky bits means that I have a feeling this game will be very successful with TORA once they've fixed all these release issues, which I think is causing them a lot of stress.

I'm really hoping we get to see a TORA Le Mans on PCars if the serious release issues are sorted out. The game seems perfect for endurance races........

It's strange how some people seem to really struggle with the game and others aren't coping that badly. I guess it's down to what people prefer and what suits them. Maybe it's the amount I've put in I don't know, but I'm finding that driving with the controller is fine! Almost perfect.

There's only one car I seem to struggle with and that's the Formula A car, the rest I've gotten a hang of. Once the bugs are dealt with (which is going on at the moment), this game will be in another league!

Loving the new cars Smile that GT3 is awesome!

Also Project CARS have outlined what's on the way in terms of game fixes and DLC: http://www.projectcarsgame.com/on-demand.html

In short, a butt-load of new cars "featuring more American muscle and US stock, Japanese road machines, British LMP and GT, classic and modern-day open wheel, touring, and track day vehicles" and 12 new tracks with multiple layouts on each comprising of "road tracks, historic locations, modern circuits, and ovals." The first circuit expansion is available in June. It'll most likely be the ones in the Track list on our forum that aren't there yet Smile

Excited!
