Was a good race for me, glad I was able to nurse the car home with engine damage. Onto Indy!
Side note, Neo- I only see the results through Round 1?

Re: TORAus StockHatch Series 2 - Race 3 Sign In
My finish does not indicate the lengths from which I had to come to finish in fifth.
Off the start, I was not looking at the road and if it weren't for good thinking by my teammate, MrShannon2U, we both would have been taken out when I missed the braking zone heading into T1. I went off into the sand trap and was last, 11th, after qualifying fourth for Lobby B.
I really like Road America and in practice I was six-tenths from hitting the 29s. So, I began to focus on hitting my marks and trying to be smooth in the corners. Eventually I saw 10th. Slowly I began to gain on the drivers in seventh through ninth. I don't recall what lap times I was running because I wanted to focus on the track and not how fast my laps were or were not.
I pitted around lap eight or nine and came out about 1,000 or so feet behind eighth or ninth. I continued to work at hitting my marks and being smooth. I eventually was side-by-side with JBBTheFox. Unfortunately, I could not slow down enough after going under the Chevy bridge, bumped Fox and I went off losing two or three previously hard-earned positions.
With around three laps to go, I continued to drive hard (eventually setting my fast lap of the race, too!) and caught up to eighth. Got around him and nearly lost that spot but managed to hold off the challenge. On lap 16, the guys in fifth and sixth swapped some paint and managed to get around them, up to fifth.
Not the way I'd like to do it, but it was sure better than the results at Long Beach the Monday before!
