GTCC 2021 - Round 7 Drivers Briefing
Hello everyone! For this round only, there will be a few special changes to accommodate the extreme length of the track.
Entire Round
We will be using Fuel and Tires for qualifying and both races.
Qualifying:
Just like what we did for the N24, drivers will be permitted to reverse before the start of lap 1, up to the first gantry in the final sector of the circuit. Having a 7 minute out lap is just not a good use of time, so we're doing this to maximize meaningful track usage.
Additionally, qualifying will consist of only 2 laps, instead of 6, since the races are 3 laps each. Clean laps will still be placed above dirty laps.
Races:
There will be no full out lap for either race. Instead, drivers will reverse to the first gantry, then proceed at reduced speed to the original starting positions. From there, a regular standing start will be performed as with any other GTCC race.
The mandatory pit for each race may be completed at the end of lap 1 or lap 2.
As the races are being run without damage, there will be no safety cars for this round. Be careful!
