Welcome to the 2022 TORA Formula Mazda series! This championship will be hosted on Forza Motorsport 7 and consist of 6 rounds, each comprised of 2 races.

By registering for the series, you agree to the rules and regulations written in this thread and the TORA Driver’s Handbook. Please take the time to carefully review the following regulations carefully before entering. TORA reserves the right to alter this rules package as needed for the purpose of fairness and clarity in competition.

This rules package is not fully inclusive. Please refer to the TORA Driver’s Handbook for full definitions of terms relating to basic regulation in TORA competition. Note that specific rules for this series will take precedence over rules outlined in the Driver’s Handbook:

1. Championships
1.1 Driver’s Championship
This will be a competition between every registered driver regardless of team affiliation. The points at the end of this series will be the final total after the inclusion of ONE dropped round.
1.2 Teams Championship
This will be a competition fought by a group of up to three competitors. The points at the end of this series will be the final total without a dropped round. In the event of more than 2 drivers being on a team, the highest points scored by the team will be recorded. Drivers on the same Team must utilize the same vehicle choice.
1.3 Privateer’s Championship
This will be a competition between competitors not registered to a team. The points at the end of this series will be the final total without a dropped round.
1.4 Dropped Rounds:
The dropped round will be the competitor’s lowest score. This includes rounds with scores of 0 points, but not rounds when the competitor received a penalty.

2. Livery Rules
2.1 This series has defined livery rules that each Competitor must adhere to in order to participate. Failure to do so may suspend participation or result in disqualification. Livery requirements are at the link below:

3. Car and Build Rules
3.1 This series has a defined build that each Competitor must adhere to in order to participate. Failure to do so may suspend participation or result in disqualification. Build requirements are at the link below:

4. Hosting and Marshals
4.1 A race may be split into multiple, numbered lobbies depending on the amount of registered drivers. Each lobby will be hosted by chosen members of the Marshal Team or TORA Staff designated as the Lobby Host.
4.2 Members of the Marshal Team who have registered but are not designated as a Lobby Host may be expected to host in situations in which they are needed.
4.3 The host of each lobby will be expected to gather data, position Competitors, and ensure that regulations are followed.
4.4 In-game lobby settings must be followed and are linked below:

5. Qualifying
5.1 The fastest clean lap from a Competitor, as denoted by the timers in the game will be recorded for qualifying.
5.2 Qualifying sessions will last 10 minutes; competitors will be permitted to complete their active lap when time expires.
5.3 The Lobby Host will record the results on the Online Racing Manager (ORM).

6. Race Starts
6.1 The start of the first race of each round will be a delayed start.
6.2 During a delayed start, the race will begin at 10 seconds on the race clock.
6.3 The start of the second race will be a rolling start.
6.4 During a rolling start, the field will complete one pace lap at 60 mph in a single file and form double-file lines towards the end of the lap. The race starts as each row crosses the line.

7. Series Format
7.1 The grid for the first race of each round will be in qualifying order.
7.2 The grid for the second race of each round will be based on the finishing order from race 1, with the top 50% being inverted.

8. Safety Car
8.1 This championship will not use safety cars except for the final round.
8.2 A safety car may only be called if three (3) or more cars are damaged in an incident.
8.3 It is common at oval races for massive accidents to occur. It has also been known for these wrecks to carry on taking place after the caution call. If you are wrecked after the caution call you are STILL not able to regain your previous position because you were involved in the wreck. This does not extend to lag issues during the caution, if lag causes a collision which causes you to lose position DURING a caution period after the pack has regrouped, you may regain your position at the lobby host's discretion.
8.4 Only drivers that are involved in the accident, the lobby host, or a staff member are permitted to call for a caution.
8.5 Cautions cannot be called once the final lap of the race has been started by the race leader.

9. Pit Stops
9.1 There is one mandatory stop in the second race of each round only. It must be taken between 15:00 and 20:00 on the game clock.
9.2 Competitors are allowed to pit as needed for damage to their car in the case of an incident.

10. Championship Calendar
10.1 The championship calendar is at the following link:

11. Postponed Meetings
11.1 Sometimes a round/meeting may be postponed. TORA Staff and the Race Director will decide whether the meeting is canceled or moved elsewhere on the calendar.
