TGF2 does it again...
Remember 2002? Ferrari won every race bar two. Looks like that may happen again..

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
Of course. But I just wish F1 would see its way. I love watching videos of F1 in the 90's. It was just better then.

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
I regret not watching the end of the 1997 season, because watching the official season tape I appear to think that not only was the races good, but the season as a whole was good, the tyres werenet grooved, the cars looked and sounded awesome...

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
why is everyone so worried about Red bull taking over f1? its only cause there 09 car was so far ahead of eveyone esle, i think the 2010 car would even still be a top 3 car this year! Lets just wait for macca to find the sweet spot and ferrari to get their act together, and being ferrari they will.
Another great showing for Di Resta, im a huge fan of him (even thinking of changing my GT to DiRestaFan lol) im show if this keeps up he ll get a good team next year. With hamliton maybe on the way to RBR and Schumi maybe even retiring theres two spots he can easy fill.

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
Hamilton to Red Bull? Never, unless he falls out with McLaren, which is unlikely. This is the guy who has a very special place within McLaren.
I'm not worried about Red Bull. They are quick, and they deserve to be winning as their car is the best out there.
What i'm worried about is F1 turning into a ''show'' rather than trying to get back that good ol' fashioned F1 magic that vanished in the past decade.

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
Why are we worried that Red Bull are taking over F1?
Because its happened enough times before.
Congratulations to them for their efforts of course, but setting a pole position lap faster than any time F1 has been to china in a time when they are meant to be slowing the cars down does not look good. Maybe thats the DRS doing its job (as it should during the race).
I wonder how dull 1992 must have been to the non-Mansell audience...

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
F1 as we all know is cyclical. McLaren had their form during the 80's and briefly again in the late 90's. Williams and Bennetton were the teams to beat during the early to mid 90's. Ferrari's period was the 00's and their dominance, right at the point where F1 was becoming the global media phenomenon has both helped and hindered the sport.
It put Ferrari on a pedestal, showed how strong they were at the time and the might of Schumacher on the track. To us non Ferrari fans, this was considered 'boring'. I hold my hand up and say that I had a years subscription to the F1 channel that ran in 2002 (the worst year of them all!) and the highlights were watching the battles further down the field. The breakthrough has come following tht disasterous year with the take over of editorial rights to footage by Ecclestone's company meaning that rather than the 'regional' directors being able to focus the attention on whatever car was their favourite, we are now lucky to get a fairly evenly balanced coverage across the entire field. This, in my view has helped to elieviate much of the 'boredom' that plagued the early 00's.
While it is true that Red Bull is and has dominated the last two years, it hasn't been an easy ride and while one of the blue cars may be running away with it at the front, how often did we actually see them outside of the occasional mid race shot, pitstops, start and finish?
The formula is closer to being correct, lose the trick wings and KERS and have the simple slicks and wings policy that 2009 essentially created without the extras and we would have had just as good a season. The extra buttons and somewhat needless artificial passing aids don't add much to the racing. Could many of the passes at Malaysia have been completed without the assistance of the DRS? Probably. Many DRS aided moves allowed the cars to draw level, not completely pass. But then a car picking up a good tow on the straight would have the same effect.
It is a simple case of the sport reacting to the 'boredom' claims by the casual fan and those with short attention spans. The same people tend to then complain that the additional bits make it too complex to understand. The sport cannot win in this ultra media-biased environment. While it is fair to say the sport has become more about entertainment in recent years, the essence is still sport and the true fans will remember this and accommodate the changes if it means attracting more fans to the championship. But does more necessarily mean better???
