johnnyboy360 wrote:Starting to get bored of this, reason why? Vettel is ALWAYS number 1, (apart from China, which was a great race) and when he does, he becomes big headed but when he loses he cries! Normal drivers usually go "Yeah unlucky race, team done all they can, just learn from this and be strong next time" Vettel goes (Annoyed voice) "Just couldnt do it, car was crap, team weren't helping, next race we shall carry on cheating like we always do"
Thats my opinion, I hate Vettel, I hate Red Bull, and they have been caught cheating before. It wouldnt suprise me if they got caught again.
I think Vettel has calmed down a lot since Spa last year. Ever since then he's been pretty leveled headed about things when they go wrong. In Korea when his engine blew and cost him the win, he was just like "Oh well, stuff happens, we'll try again next time." What is annoying are the speeches he gives on the radio every time he wins. I don't recall him ever blaming the team though. He was very apologetic about making them rebuild his car this weekend after he destroyed it. I dunno, it going to be lame if he wins every race this year, but if someone does have to do it, at least its the guy who still has a sense of humor and isn't the mechanical robot that Schumi was. Vettel was even joking about his chocolat with Brundle a few minutes before the race started. Just my thoughts.
When did Red Bull get caught cheating?

Red Bull, known for the apparent application of team orders in Brazil last year. Also for some form of "ride height control system" in the earlier rounds of last season.
Those are the only forms of "cheating" I can recall.

Johnnyboy, may I ask how old you are? Were you even alive for the Shumi domination? I hate Vettel too, just like I despise Shumi but Vettel has dominated for what...Just over a season or so. Nothing compared to the old days but even so, I still watched it. Bit of a childish excuse, "Because Vettel is always number 1...there's a reason why he is number 1!
I don't necessarily think DRS should go, but it should be activated a lot later than it was. It should help the drivers get along side 1 another, leaving them work to do under braking and at least giving the chance of possibly defending the position. A wrong call from the FIA to have the activation line before turn 10, just after would of been perfect.
Even so, a good race and I enjoyed it even though Lewis didn't do well...much better than last season.

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
It's really sad to see Schumacher out on track these days. There's occasional flashes of brilliance but it's just not the same. Like some WW2 soldier joining the modern army simply because he wants to feel useful again. Outdated and outdone.
I hope he has some luck this year and then packs up and goes for the benefit of the youngsters and for the sake of his own legacy.

As Probally the biggest Schui Fan here, Merc and Schui should have gone sportscar racing, he would of fitted in fine and still got the buz he was looking for.
I hope his season turns around but looking at him and his drive its 0 at the momment and once you lose the spark thats it so I would expect him to call it quits if no testing in season is implemented for next year.
Sad day and before you ask dont question my age.

As is Vettel, he made many mistakes last year and I still think if Lewis and Fernando were in quicker cars they would be ahead of Vettel but I'm not taking anything away from Vettel. Seriously, no one hates Germans more than me...I find it weird to be praising one but he IS a quick driver, his lap times prove that and you would be stupid to question it. Yes, his race craft is no where near the likes of Lewis, Fernando, Jenson but then he is only 23(?) so still very young. I'm not being an arse, just purely stating a fact.
Plus, it's Spain next so huge updates will be on the way. Could be seeing McLaren, Ferrari and Mercedes closing the gap to Red Bull and also Lotus getting closer or even up with the Williams, Toro Rosso's etc as they're not actually far off now.

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
I have no problems with any of the gimmicks and toys on the cars, think DRS is great, KERS does a job, etc. Just look at Rosberg, he said himself he thought he was going backwards, but the strategy he was on brought it back to him. At the end of the day, the top six finishers ended the race in qualy order except for Rosberg and Alonso, who swapped positions.
I love this version of F1.

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
I welcome the new regulations in F1,granted they need some refining, but i have not seen so much overtaking in F1 since pre Shumi era.I agree that the overtaking was too easy yesterday, but they have said that the regs are not set in stone yet and will continue to be evaluated/refined as the season progresses. In the long run though i see these changes to be nothing but good for the sport,it's making F1 interesting again.
As for Vettel, great driver but we've not really seen him under real pressure with the likes of Lewis,Jenson or Nando right up his rear for 20 laps consistantly.I find it curious how Red Bull always seem to have the jump on the other teams at the start of the season,i mean for the last two seasons Red Bull have been streets ahead of the other top teams for the first part of the season. The likes of Mclaren and Ferrari should look at themselves and see how they can improve for the first race each season.

I know I know but we all express our opinions here and even though some may not like them, its tough.
But to be honest, I hate all German drivers with the exception of Schumi. They seem to be very arrogant, they seem to always think they are the best and wont settle for anything other than 1st. Schumi, I think is different. But I think this is because he is not chasing the championship no more.

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
And the rest of the drivers aren't arrogant? How many times has Lewis lost it over the radio when his engineer tells him to pit? How about Alonso thinking he is so great that he makes Massa get out of his way? Schumi used to be the most arrogant of all (granted he had reason to be) but the only reason he isn't arrogant now is because there isn't anything to be arrogant about.

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
Thing is though Lewis, and I'm sure other drivers, get annoyed when asked to pit because they know that the car can do more, and wouldnt it annoy you if your team says "Ok need to push" then says pit, I'm pretty sure it would. And the Alonso and Massa thing, Alonso never said for them to do that, that was a team decision. Granted, Alonso is very big headed.

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
Here's an interesting stat: if Vettel can get pole in Spain, Monaco, and Canada, he will tie Senna's record for most consecutive poles. The Red Bull should be good in Monaco and Spain, so I wouldn't be surprised to see Vettel succeed there, but Canada might be a different story.
If he manages to do that, it might not say anything about his ability to race wheel to wheel, but that certainly makes him the quickest on the grid.

Dinky little 4 pot turbos and now no ground effects either? Come on FOTA, where are bi-turbo V12s, the active suspension and aero, and all that cool stuff? Its the 21st century and at this rate NASCAR is going to be more high tech in a few years.

Eric Lux is apparently now pressing criminal charges against Sutil for whatever happened in that Chinese bar. We might just get to see Hulkenberg race this year after all.
