Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
Not the best ever Spanish GP that'd be 96 at Barca, it was bloody good compared to others though!

I can't believe Monaco is only a week a way already, been looking forward to this the most out of all the races so far. (obviously)

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
I'm not a big fan of the Monaco GP, if people think Barcelona is a precesion it's got nothing compared to Monaco, hardly any overtaking or real excitement, it creates great races when it's raining but as do most tracks!

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
Give me Monaco over one of these horrible Tilke-Drome's any day.
This is GRAND PRIX racing, not a Touring Car race at Oulton. Overtaking is nice, but you can't manufacture good racing.
The age of downforce has been upon us for just over a decade now. Embrace it!

Well.... certainly for the last 10 years at least.
+1 Alonso, first time I have shouted at the TV all year, but fair play to Vettle had to deal with a fair ammount of pressure from Leiws but stood his ground and managed to overtake other drivers lol
Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
Jense had a good recovery I thought. Awesome passes on Webber and Alonso too. Just shows that he really can pass when he needs too
Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
I wouldn't say it was the best one, for a track that produces nothing at the best of times, this was actually promising for about an hour, then the inevitable and the unbearable had to happen, changed channel as soon as I was aware that Christy Horner was about to deploy "Operation Script Win".
However, Had I not been looking at driver tracker via laptop while watching the TV then I wouldn't have made proverbial head nor proverbial tail of what the hell was going on.

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
Apparently the super softs are expected to only last 10 laps? That's what I read on F1Fanatic. If that's true, this race is going to be absurd, and I wouldn't be surprised to see some cars not having enough tires to finish the race on.

Hamilton will be the first one to run out of tires.

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
It will be interesting to see how the teams deal with qualy. If the super softs really can't last more than 10 laps or so, they might run those in Q1 and Q2, saving the softs for the race.

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
Qualifying this week is going to be even more pressure cooked because of the need for tires in the race. They all barely run any qualifying laps as it is so most likely it will be 1-2 laps per session at most. I feel like I am watching the office and waiting for the punchline but everybody is just sitting there staring at each other.

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
I nearly forgot that the first two practice sessions were moved up a day and the first one is going to start in just a few hours, I will post a link to the speed channel feed. They don't show practice 2 on the internet since they air it on TV, but you can watch 1 and 3 online without commentary. You can still hear teams communicating with their drivers so it's very cool.

I've never been able to get iPlayer to work over a proxy. Even when I was sure that I was using a UK proxy, it was still so laggy that it wouldn't work.
