Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
lol, someone really needs to take F1 away from the FIA. They wait until a couple minutes before qualy starts to figure out what rules they are going to use, and instead of balancing out the field by slowing Red Bull down, we end up with a RBR 1-2, and McLaren, the team most likely to beat them down in 5th and 10th.
It never ceases to amaze me how ridiculous and absurd Formula One is lol.

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
I know what you mean. It looks as if the FIA have given all advantages to Red Bull. I think they should go back to plain engines and a car. All these blown diffusers, F-Ducts, KERS, DRS etc are causing problems and arguements and all people are gonna do is go, "F* it... Can't be bothered with F1, I'll watch Cash In the Attict" (or some other really crap show, or even BBC4!) I am getting that way now. Not watching Cash in the Attict! But just getting to the point where there is no point.

Wow! Murray!
F1 should be this - Slicks, wings, loads of power and some of the worlds greatest tracks.
Thats what attracts people.

Did anybody notice a flash frame message come up on screen for a split second when they showed Button's lap?

That's not what I meant. RBR have lost a ton of pace with this diffuser nonsense too. Webber's pole time was no where near the margin that Vettel's had over the rest of the field in the rest of the season. I'm saying that instead of equalizing the field, they took as much time from McLaren who was the closest to RBR as they did from RBR.
These changes should just not have happened period. Major changes in the regulations should only be made after the season is over. They didn't ban the double diffuser or F Duct mid season.

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
RBR have lost a little bit of pace... They're still frickin' top which means that they still got something. Honestly... Everyone lost pace cos of this, it still the same as what it would be if it was back to what it was.
Changes have to happen whenever they can. Can you imagine going up to the FIA complaining about the diffuser then the FIA go "Ooooh no. Mid season mate. We'll look at it before next year then we'll make it better." As DC said, the FIA want to get it over and done with so no protests are made and they don't lose their rep.

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
Red Bull made the better car. They should be winning.
I hate all this ''pegging back''. F1 wasn't intended to be a spectator sport, Rallycross and Touring Cars (In its early 90's reboot) were.

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
lol, the FIA lost whatever good reputation they had a long time ago. This blown diffuser mess is just one more turd on their pile.
They shouldn't be changing technical regs mid season. The teams have already spent millions on developing their blown setups. Banning them means all of that money was completely wasted. What's worse, as far as I can tell the FIA put no thought whatsoever into this. They thought that they were just going to ban the blowing of diffusers to cut back the downforce the teams were generating. At no point did they apparently realize that those same engine maps they were outlawing had a lot more influence on the cars than simply rear grip. Charlie Whiting is a smart guy, so I don't understand how he didn't foresee there being reliability reasons behind the engine maps that the teams run.

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
I could go on all day with letters to F1 supremos. Some rude some not.
What gets me is the FIA are now saying they might scrap the clampdown. So they have confused hell out of everyone, it will give RBR another advantage. So it went from no change, to no change, now back to no change. I thought the races were meant to be closer and exciting. Pfft.

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
Hahahaha, now they are just going to revert back to the Valencia spec regs for the rest of the season? If I was McLaren, I would sue the FIA for that 100mil fine they paid. No one does more to bring the sport into disrepute than the FIA.

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
McLaren have to do something. Even the BBC F1 commentary said that they had the disadvantage. Horner said they had the disadvantage. I'm sorry but to say that and then get a 1-2 on pole something is just not right...
NEWSFLASH: Brundle spoke to Bernie (Ecclestone) on the grid and Bernie said it's been agreed, they're going back to Valencia spec. McLaren will be relieved, Red Bull will be laughing and gloating about how quick they're gonna be.

Sounds a bit like here!narboza22 wrote:No one does more to bring the sport into disrepute than the FIA.
Anyways, 20 mins or so to the start of the GP. Priory, Luffield, old pit straight to hangar straight has been described bu Button as "extreme wet tyre territory" and the rest you could run on slicks! This could be an awesomely entertaining race.
As an "official" weather man, I can report I see no impending rain on its way to the track, but there is a very high risk of rain for the race. I'll keep an eye on it.
I have a XBL party now open if anyone fancied a British GP party?

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
Good drive by Alonso. Red Bull were stupid to tell Webber to hold back. Force India ruined Di Restas race. That last fight between Massa and Hamilton was fantastic and we need more of that! I hope someone gets a picture of that cos that is gonna be my wallpaper! Horner is denying that Webbers title race is over. Ted Kravitz: "So Webbers title race is over thanks to that order?" Christian Horner: "NO!!"
