Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
All the top guys drove well today, I have no criticisms. Hamilton came out top fair and square, a great win.

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
Good race from Hamilton. Alonso is a machine. That guy is hands down the best driver on the grid. He never does anything exciting, but he always finishes well, and is always happy about it afterwards.
I wonder what happened to RBR's race pace? Neither car seemed to be able to get around the Ferraris in front of them.
I think Massa is going to lose his seat too. He just seems out classed at the front of the field. Hasn't been the same since he came back.

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
It's like they say, Red Bull are amazing in the heat, but not so good when it's cooler.
To be honest, I think Massa is still scared to actually drive properly. I know it may sound stupid but, it can happen again. If he was to overcome that fear, which is never gonna happen because it nearly killed him, he would race a lot better.

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
In the past though, hasn't Red Bull been better at getting heat into their tires which gives them an edge in qualy but hurts them in the race because of higher degradation, whereas Ferrari has had trouble warming their tired up? Idk.
Its a shame about Massa though. I agree, he's lost the edge or something.

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
That's the point about Red Bull. In the heat, they can get the tyres warmer quicker, giving them a better advantage. But yes, in race trim, they are quite a bit slower.

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
Alonso still best driver at the momment the Ferrari is far worse at getting heat into there tyres than red bull, Intresting alonso suggested mcalrean and Ferrari should work together to catch Red Bulls
Massa will stay at Ferrari it was a pit stop mistake due to the realease system which cost him 4th
Suchi had a good race spun in 02 same part of track

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
in the slow down lap with webber picking up alonso, i think webber knew it was againest the rules and did it in a way to show his team he ll do what he wants...after all he did take a while to answer Jakes question of "your in the fastest car, isnt that a case of just signing up for another year?" (it was like that anyway)
and yes webber got away with it but he could of easyly got something.

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
I think it was just giving Alonso a ride. I can't believe you get a fine for doing that. That sucks something awful.
And they really need to let them hoon around after a win!

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
I just cried my eyes out laughing about that! I have never seen that done before in my life! It just goes to show that with all the close racing, there's no hard feelings between them!

Health and Safety.
Sponsors needing to be appeased.
Teams want their "employee" drivers to stay with their "company line".

Its been done a few times in the past decade. I remember Fisichella hitching a ride at Hockenheim? He sat right on the back with two hands in the air box.
And Hakkinen got a ride after his car went bang at Catalunya.

If I'm honest, I don't remember the Fisichella one. What year was it? I started watching F1 around about 2004.

Fisichella got a ride at the proper Hockenheim.
I can't believe its been 10 years since the last race at the real Hock I've been mourning its loss ever since.

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
Eddie Cheever helped Nigel Mansell back to the pits in Detroit 1988, but I'm not sure if that was on raceday.

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
This is my Angry Face!!
I can't believe what I just heard on the radio on the way into work.
F1 2012 will be shown live on Sky. The BBC will show HALF of the races live, and the rest as highlights. BBC only retain the rights to live radio coverage for all the races. I DON'T HAVE/WANT SKY!
Now I want to punch Bernie in the face.

Re: OFFICIAL F1 2011
It'd be nice if the BBC took some of the money they'll be saving from not showing F1 and picked up the FIA World Endurance thingie, but I don't really see that happening.
But yea, I agree, I can't believe it either. Was it not only about a month ago when Whitmarsh, Horner, FOTA, and co. all said F1 must remain free to air or no sponsors are going to give them any money, and even Bernie agreed that if he is going to have a fan base to gouge money from, F1 needs to remain free to air. Its like they resolved the blown diffuser fiasco, so they looked for the next thing to make F1 look stupid and this is what they came up with.
