Re: ILMC Round 2 1000km SPA
Audi proved one thing though, they can go longer on fuel than Pug can. And at Le Mans that could be vital. All they need is to not have silly mistakes and better reliability.
I think given Peugeot's record at Spa I don't see why anyone was suprised they won!

Re: ILMC Round 2 1000km SPA
Wasn't it Peugeot going longer on fuel?? I really do think Audi were sandbagging and hoping that Peugeot will get penalised for Le Mans so they kept a bit of race pace in reserve, the 11th/12th June can't come quickly enough!

I remember hearing at some point the #3 Audi was going a a lap or so longer in stints.
Re: ILMC Round 2 1000km SPA

Re: ILMC Round 2 1000km SPA
I thought the aco equalisation rules only applied to diff engine types, i.e. Turbo-diesel, n/a petrol, turbo-petrol not variants of the same engine philosophy
Re: ILMC Round 2 1000km SPA
I'm sorry but no no Pugt to win at le mans, pgt went longer today on fuel, we are set for a great le mans and well 1 question still remains ACO really desiel and petrol balanced we think not
But any fantastic race excellent HD coverage and radio le mans great commentary

The longest stint a Peugeot did all day was 24 laps, Audi did 27 laps and they didn't do it once they did it twice! 3laps = little over 1 1/2 laps at La Sarthe. Sorry dunc but the Audi can go longer on fuel as for race pace they're both the same speed we saw that today. yes the Peugeot's came from the back to the front in no time but until those last few minutes of the race an Audi had the fastest race lap for the whole race. Now lets not be so quick to judge Audi on poor performance. Audi did in this race exactly what Peugeot did at Sebring albeit with a few more problems but still. At Sebring we saw Peugeot grab pole and 3rd place, they led early on but in the end where did Peugeot finish? 3rd! today same thing only instead of the Lion we saw 4 rings. Deffinatly teething problems with the new car. come June I think we're going to have ourselves a race, sorry scratch that, ALL OUT WAR! with no deffinate favorite going in.

Audi two fastest cars both had teething problems. I don't believe for a second that we saw Audi's true pace, especially based on their performance at the Le Mans test.

Re: ILMC Round 2 1000km SPA
I don't think we saw Peugeot's true pace either, but they seemed slower at the test.
Outright speed aside though, I would be more concerned about Peugeot's ability to deal with a quick Audi. The last couple of years they had a way faster car until 2010 when Audi managed to push them hard enough that they broke their cars. I hope that they will both be on the same lap at the end of 24 hours, but based on previous races, there's a good chance that Peugeot will shoot themselves in the foot.
Ideally, all 6 of the 908s and R18s will break down and we can watch Oreca, Highcroft, and Pescarolo fight it out for the win.

Re: ILMC Round 2 1000km SPA
I'd say what about Aston but I get the feeling they will be in the garage for most of the race
Re: ILMC Round 2 1000km SPA
Yea, I don't think they will be anywhere the front of the field, and even if they were, they have the only car thats uglier than the R18 and I don't want them to win because of that. Although to be fair, any car that they replaced their Lola with was going to be hideous by comparison.

Re: ILMC Round 2 1000km SPA
It's more interesting that they figured the benefits of open cockpit would be better just at the point when their main rivals have all gone for coupes.
Just proves if it aint broke dont fix it!

Re: ILMC Round 2 1000km SPA
Honda stuck with the spyder too and they seem to be pretty quick. I think I read somewhere that they were switching to a coupe in the next year or two though.

If that aston was still a coupe it would look so much better!
