Re: Super GT - Discussion Thread
I'll end up in the nsx if there is no supra, wasn't bashing or comparing any cars or makes, they are pretty much equal and from the same era so including one without the other is what I was lolling at. The Supra is the only toyota I've ever liked and most of the cars in this series are from manufacturers I couldn't care less about but it's still one of my favorite things to race.

Re: Super GT - Discussion Thread
I think a massive test session is in order, we have seven different make of car in GT500:
Audi
Honda
Hyundai
Lexus
Mercedes
Nissan
Toyota
2 of each makes 14, and I suggest that 14 of us should do some laps sometime in the next week, unless there is still some data from the Formula 500 sessions, possibly next tuesday not long after the TCCs...
We dont have to worry about GT300 testing because with the "World GT" Specs the balancing is in good hands there, however the Nissan and the Subaru are getting a mention, we should try and sneak these in somehow, I'm nowhere near my xbox now, but is it possible to wedge the traditional GT300 cars into the "GT3" Bucket of the world GTs?
Additional: Audi Brake issue discovered, for some reason I set the brake pressure on the car to 0%, just try that one out at Motegi East and you'll quickly find out why I got worried.

Re: Super GT - Discussion Thread
Regarding the GT300 class, we'll need to upgrade the GT3 cars wit wider tyres to be able to race against the high downforce Nissan and Subaru. The already upgraded GT2 cars don't need any additional PI as their tyres can go far too wide in their PI bracket.
Re: Super GT - Discussion Thread
what about putting drag tyres on the two GT300 cars?

Re: Super GT - Discussion Thread
we'll have to test all of this, especially the GT500 cars against one another.
as for when to run it, I think later on saturdays...say 4 o'clock central, 5 o'clock EST 10 o'clock GMT
would be decent?

good good.
ok so.
GT300 - World GT cars + 350Z
GT500 - Nissan GTR, Lexus SC430, Hyundai genesis coupe, Audi DTM car, Merc DTM car
i'd be ok with leaving out the NSX. it's too old anyway and i feel like forza put the hyundai in to replace it.

With the GT3 mess, would you guys be running an altered Maserati GranTurismo GT4 and the Zagato in this, too?

Re: Super GT - Discussion Thread
I had to open my stupid mouth and say I'd go out of my way to race, but on Saturdays there is a tour my friend is racing in and I like to go and pretend I'm part of his crew, trying to get myself a ride for next season as well. Will still race super gt here when possible but it won't be the whole season.

Re: Super GT - Discussion Thread
sounds like a good time, we are currently using the GT500 cars in the IFCA World Cup event and aslong as there are some careful deliberate planning into how you use or can modify the builds - these cars are grippy fast and excellent on the road. Cant wait to see what comes of it, hopefully its on a night when I am not racing over at the IFCA.
keep me posted

Re: Super GT - Discussion Thread
Just to clear this with those that are confused, this is from Wikipedia, and it explains the GT300 class, and also why there are "World GT" spec cars, the same cars that TORA run on a saturday mini-series:
Few works teams participate in GT300, so the field tends to be much more varied in terms of types of cars entered. The big Japanese car makers also participate in this class, as well as more exotic cars from the likes of ASL, Mosler and Vemac (Lotus tuner). Since 2006, European-style GT cars have chosen to concentrate in this series. Starting from 2010 season, cars which mainly participates in FIA GT3 also entered the series with minor modifications.
2006 Privée Zurich Shiden (MC/RT-16).
Along with the standard GT cars, the Shiden (MC/RT-16), a Mooncraft/Riley Daytona Prototype car reviving the original 1977 Mooncraft Shiden 77 (紫電77)[4] also exists in GT300 class since 2006, getting good results (losing the title to RX-7 with tied points but fewer wins in 2006, and won the title in 2007). Until early 2000s when FWD cars were being permitted to be converted to RWD configuration, many of these such as Mitsubishi FTO and Toyota Corolla Levin AE101 competed in its original configuration, and did not win any championships. Cars with rear wheel drive tend to dominate the series until 2008, when an All Wheel Drive Subaru Impreza developed by Cusco won in Sepang.
GT300 cars are much more regulated than their GT500 counterparts, and much more closely resemble road-going versions. Chassis clips and realignments are not allowed (except the latter in the case of front-wheel drive cars), which results in a much more affordable racing experience for privateers. Canards, like FIA GT3, is not allowed in GT300 even it come in stock with the car. While engine outputs and modifications are at a lower level than the GT500 cars, the GT300 cars still post competitive times and races are very competitive.
In previous seasons, the JAF GT(mainly Japanese cars) cars found more success than the cars participating FIA GT until 2011 season which BMW Z4 GT3 won the annual championship. In 2012 season, a major change of regulation which the new regulation will be closer to the FIA GT3 ones, allowing GT3 cars to give full potential.

I should have clarified. There are only 4 "true" GT3 cars IIRC (Evora, SLS, BMW, and Audi) and 2 GT300 cars (Z and Subaru). I was wondering if you guys should open it up to the GT4 Maserati and the Zagato (which I THINK is on a GT3 frame) in order to add in more variety and options.

Re: Super GT - Discussion Thread
the GT300 cars will be the exact same specifications and handicaps as the GT mini series cars which can be found here.
http://forums.theonlineracingassociation.com/t7384-tora-gt-mini-series-general-info
as for GT500, I do not want to use the older GT500 cars (R34 GTR, NSX, Supra) when we have the DTM cars available.
there will be 5 cars for GT500 and there will be minimum parts to add on to each car.
DTM Merc - Full Width Tires front and rear - PI855
DTM Audi - Full Width Tires front and rear - PI854
Super GT GTR - Race Brakes - PI 860
Super GT SC430 - Race Brakes - PI859
Hyundai Genesis + - Race Brakes - PI860
there will be no sign up limitations or anything like that on either GT300 or GT500
I dont want to fool with the 350Z or WRX. they are old anyway and would involve changing the cars even more and would require even more balancing.
