Right, I'm away out of this thread for a few weeks whilst the game comes out and I can't play it. See you when I'm done, as I don't want it spoiled!

I will be declaring that this weekend is STRICTLY Halo 4. I may or may not do the ISCC race, but I won't be practicing for it if I do.

ok, im gonna be avoiding this thread too, now but I will leave you with this easter egg.

this sucks for me, can't find anywhere in my area (besides disgusting fast food joints) looking for work, so i can't get this, horizon, F1 2012 and i doubt that i'll have enough for Project C.A.R.S. as well, i'll beg my parents come march to buy me project cars because thats the one i want the most,
SO MANY GAMES TO CHOOSE, SO LITTLE MONEY D:

This is a very well made game, it feels different to the usual Halo format (as it would do when a different developer has taken over from the odd 10+ years from Bungie).

The pace on multiplayer is so fast, it's crazy. No SWAT though :'( that's my favourite game mode... It's my day off today so I'm going to battle through Campaign on Normal, then off to Legendary after that

every time I order any game from Amazon it arrives late, I switched to game and even though they had some problems........they still delivered on time every time.

Well here's one for you guys,

A) The same thing happened to my friend

B) I preordered from play.com, and I didn't get a delivery at work, so I thought I must have got it delivered at home. Anyway I get home at 7pm and nothing shows up. I check the play.com website, and I haven't updated my card details to the new one, so the order was cancelled last week without me looking.

So I drove to Sainsbury's after tea and got it straight away!

my opinion, yes the Didact survives somehow or w/e. and they somehow bring cortana back cuz they were able to find remnets of her and Dr. Halsey brings her back but with newer stuff and same memories. But what about the back story of DR.'s interrogation, and what happened over those 4 yrs. btw humans and the elites?

but remember in the end scene, the voice saying the human race will always have an enemy... or something like that.

And honestly, i hope we never see Master chief's face. There is no way, they can create a person to fill the persona that Master Chief is...

Well to clear some confusion up, Cortana (or atleast a part of her) is still within the Composer which was intended to have the function of taking digital information and converting it into a biological substance. Furthermore, as like much that goes on with the Didact that goes unexplained, (for instance the Librarian and the Didact were wife and husband), the final speech is the Didact's speech when he is being tried by the Forerunner council for his war crimes when fighting the Humans.

Some more unexplained Didact information which comes from the books is that the Didact was the 'general' of the Forerunner army(s) against both the Humans and the Flood. The Didact in Halo 4 isn't his original body but rather his memories and personality 'injected' into another being. The Didact was in direct confrontation with the 'Master Builder' or the person that created the Halo arrays, as such when the Didact was ordered to fire the Halo rings he refused until the Librarian detonated her ships leaving her stranded on Earth.

When the Librarian briefly spoke of 'indexing' the Humans she also indexed all other sentient races in the galaxy and had them preserved in the Ark until after the Halo arrays where fired.

The Halo arrays true purpose is to destroy anything pertaining to 'neural physics' which the Precursors, the race that came before the Forerunners that were said to be so advance they could alter the evolution of the entire galaxy, used when constructing their technology.

The concept of 'the Mantle' that is referred to in Halo 4 has not be truly defined, but has been implied that it the foremost responsibility of the most powerful species to provide for the lesser species. It also has many other conditions like you are "forbade the eating of the flesh of unfortunates."

oh wow, i need to read these books and then play all the games in sequence lol i only completed Halo 2/3/4 campaign cuz i was unaware of what was reach and ODST was about until a friend broke it down for me friday... but Drake thats alot off the top of your head. and now you just threw me into even more questions and confusion lol

It's easier to explain while with speech than words, or at least faster. There have been 10 Halo books, not including any graphic novels, release with two more planned. Those ten are comprised of: Cryptum, Primordium, Silentium (comes out January 8th, 2013), Contact Harvest, The Fall of Reach, The Cole Protocol, Ghosts of Onyx, The Flood, First Strike, Glasslands, and The Thursday War. These are listed in relatively chronological order based on the Halo timeline.

The first three are part of the Forerunner saga and are about 100,000 years before Halo : Combat Evolved.

Contact Harvest is about first contact between Humans and the Covenant.

The Fall of Reach covers about 25 or so years worth of items from ~2525 (Class I of the Spartan II) to when reach falls in 2552.

The Cole Protocol follow the Spartan II Gray team and happens around 2535.

Ghosts of Onyx is about the Spartan III program which happens between 2531 to about 2545.

The Flood is basically Halo : Combat Evolved with a bit more backstory (2552).

First Strike is what happens between Halo : Combat Evolved and Halo 2.

Glasslands and The Thursday are what happen between Halo 3 and Halo 4. There is still one more book being written to finish filling the gap between Halo 3 and 4.

well we know from GL and TTW that ONI approached a religous sect of the Sangheili, who were against the Arbiter because of siding with Humanity. They agreed to arm them to fight the arbiter with tracked weapons so they could see where the insurectionist were getting thier weapons. Ironic yes.

However Admiral Hood was helping the Arbiter against the sangheili that were being supplied by ONI. Bascially ONI's other plan was to beat the sangheili so bad that they couldn't rise up to face humanity ever again, or at least for a very long time. The second book ends with one of the sangheili who WAS with the ONI suppliees (before he found out that Humans were supplying them) finding the location of Requiem, knowing that was where the Didact was.

You can fill in the blanks from there.

well i collected some of the data terminals and then watched the video on waypoint,that helped fill in the blanks some too lol

I actually haven't watched those yet. I still have to get a couple more before I unlock them all.

Cryptum, Primordium, Silentium are all about the forerunners and you will understand the storyline of Halo 4 a lot more if you read these books (I have only read Cryptum so far), it also has a few familiar characters!
