Not really. I guess it is 10x10 miles. TDU(2) maps are much bigger.
Still it is more than enough to have a hell lot of fun with this game.

+1 tsaFoot. TD:U (1) actually boasted 1,000 miles of roads, and it took me almost a week or more to find every little road. TD:U(2) added Ibiza, and off-road roads, which added ALOT to drive around, and they did NOT have any barriers, except the obvious (trees, houses, and well, the oceans)

i hope Horizon2 (if there is one) has the MMO like TDU has/had, and a much larger map

Oh, well it looks quite large, and I haven't played those games so I have no real reference

Im sure you can find them for dirt cheap now 458Italia. I recommend the first one, but the 2nd one was good too, but I feel they ruined it with adding too much of a 'Career' aspect (one achievement for having plastic surgery 40 times?!?!?!). They also made it harder to 'lock-in' to other drivers. (In TDU1, it was a D-pad command. In TDU2, you had to find it in the menu options, and even then it would sometimes fail)

I don't understand why everyone is whinging about the Horizon map... What did you expect? A Veyron hopping sand dunes and dodging cacti? They've already had to take other things down a level to fit in as much as possible, if the map were any bigger the cars would look like Forza 2. The only thing that bothers me is that the bushes are as hard as concrete, even at 200mph.

It takes only about 5 mins to cross the furthest gap in the average car, but there's lots of variation and tricky corners to keep you occupied. Although I'd love it to be TDU size, as with FM4 the only real progress we're going to see would be on the next-gen platform.

Bare in mind that the new features Horizon brings along, ie time cycles, off-road, matte paint, new cars, etc etc, should be expected as a given in FM5.

I dont really care that the map size isnt as impressive as TDU I can use my steering wheel and that is a huge plus for me, the roads are varied and enjoyable to drive in all of the cars I have driven so far, and the races are better than TDU which was a game I loved and the first racing game I had ever gotten anywhere near getting the full 1000 points on. Horizon has put a great baseline down and it will be interesting to see where the series goes be it on a next gen console or the 360, looking forward to the rally expansion pack already
